Caveat- BYU is my favorite basketball team

Take some time to watch a little Jimmer.  It's seriously like he is playing a video game.

On a second note, normally about this time teams have begun to separate out into the great and good teams, but this year, i just see a huge lump of teams together

As a Gonzaga fan, I am very happy Jimmer will not be at BYU when they join the WCC next season.

hopefully we have a player to play in the backcourt- graduating 2 seniors  guards.  Jackson Emery had a quiet 20 points... 5/7 from 3 ball land

Jimmer is a good college player but I just don't see him taking it to the next level.

Jimmer only scored 47 for the night.
Both Wisconsin and Michigan State beat that last night with 53 in regulation.

as for his NBA future, this site has him going mid 2nd round.  Right behind Xavi Rabaseda from Barcelona.

Just because they are both white don't mean their games are similar at all. He isn't similar to Morrison at all, he's much quicker and more athletic and handles the ball better. He's not as quick as Curry, but he's bigger. Will he be as good as Curry, probably not but will he as bad as Morrison, asbsolutely not.

i wonder if anybody tracks the ratio of guys drafted who are still paid in the league 5 years later by color of skin. or who are seeing more than 15m PT 5 year later. i think it would be an interesting stat. they probably don't, because the league is probably mostly run by rich white guys who don't want to disadvantage the then-poor-soon-to-be-semi-rich white draftees.

My point is that for every good college player that might make it I can name more that don't even come close, nothing against Jimmer I just don't see him being anything more then a backup in the NBA with the right franchise. I'm sure he gets drafted I just don't see it.

J.J. Redick is in his 5th NBA season, after being selected 11th overall in the first round, and is averaging about 10ppg in 25 mpg this season (mostly off the bench). He's also earned about $10M playing basketball as a pro so far.

Fredette has a shot to at least equal that.

I think this is true in almost every sport. Just by being physically gifted can make you good in college. You need to be gifted and have the desire and drive to be great in order to be good in NBA, or any other pro leagues. Even many of the college greats end up being busts in the pro game.
