You've done well, that's true. I love your confidence, and, uglyskunk, you ought to be championing this guy as a paragon of gameplanning, based on other recent threads...I'm guessing (and its only a guess, I don't know the other coach) that based on his track record your opponent game plans too...at any rate, it is time in this thread for the obligatory no hard feelings and good luck.
dacj i'm glad the guy is winning but i'm not gonna blow smoke up his butt. he has faced off against at least two teams with superior talent, but each time the opposing coach has sabotaged his team with silly mistakes, like not putting out the best starting five.

this next game against pfeiffer should be interesting i don't think one team is better then the other.

skunk...i'd be interested to hear (maybe via sitemail if you have time) your thoughts about my Sweet 16 against U of the Sciences  (also in Iba).

I've got a pretty good idea of how I think I need to approach this game and how I want to attack them, but I'm curious if someone with your success has a similar outlook....or maybe you'll think i've been screwing the pooch all along

i wish my opponent of the last game was a better sport than that. i went to his conf board to congratulate him on his good season, and all i see is him going off on how i shouldnt even be there.. :)  and i won by double digits too..

i think when i got my one recurit this season (sullivan) that really Improved my guard play, hes been great for me down the stretch, i knew this team would be good, edham gave me good peices to work with, iv taken it added a solid Guard, and with my tireless gameplanning we are taking it 1 game at a time.

i love sullivan, i think he is a beast. so even though edham deserves most of the credit for obvious reasons, i don't think it should be ignored how important sullivan is to this run.

honestly, i feel he gets a some credit, but he is not the coach here any more. i am the reason for the strong tourny run and undefeated season.  its amazing how some of you are short changing me becuase its my first season at the school.

coachuk, don't listen to those people. don't let them get you down. if you coached the team well, you coached them well, and nobody can take that away from you.

the reason people are saying what they are saying is, a lot of people believe recruiting far outweighs coaching. so they feel if 1 coach recruits a team, and another coaches them to a championship, the recruiting coach gets say 70% of the credit, and the coach gets say 30%.

this has to be evaluated on a case by case basis, but in general, i think people are crazy for thinking the above. coaching is a huge part of success. i have won with teams that the original coach had 0% chance of winning with, and they were half his players, mostly his upperclassmen were starting though. in that case, many people would say he gets most of the credit. how does that make sense? i don't know, and i strongly disagree. however, i do see where people are coming from in a way, just because you can coach a team to a title, does not imply you can recruit and coach a team to a title. so people feel to really prove you can do something, you need to do it with your own players. but like i said, a great coaching job is a great coaching job, and nobody can take that away from you.
