I can now confirm that it is possible. I just signed a C named Jay Miron who will be a good one for me. Not NPOY good or anything, but a very solid recruit. He is only 10 miles from me which obviously helped. This was the message my assistant coach gave me about his projected level: "Overall, I think a DII school would be lucky to get him, otherwise he'll probably thrive in a low Division I program." I pulled a PG off my D1 search list. He was only 10 miles out. If they are close enough to you you can pull them down. I got the same msg pj got...and like you've i've also gotten that msg from guys that started on my D2 list. My guess is that if they are really low D1 level and close to home you have a shot.
