Red Shirt rejection Topic

Frosh recruit has rejected my red shirt 3 times after the end of recruiting and after being on mop up for both pre season games. I've never had that before. Now I assume if he doesn't play in the first reg season game I can try again and continually if he doesn't play in a game. Anybody have any experience with a guy taking the redshirt after the season starts if he gets no minutes?

And if he isn't on the depth chart, he won't play, correct? Even set at mop up?
