Just as a Real Life example, Bo Ryan, longtime superpower UW-Platteville coach at D3 got the UW-Milwaukee (D1 Horizon) job.  I think he had 3 or 4 NT wins in the last 10 years, so no D2 stop for him.

I'd love to apply, but I like what I have built at John Jay.  The thing I don't like is that the 2 other human owners from last season bailed on me.  I am in a deserted conference.

sorry, bud.  its the Upstate in Wooden.  But i will say that you guys have a solid grasp of 2nd place

I'm in both Capital and Upstate. CAC has had more success in every measurable way since I've been in them.

But I think it's tougher to win night in and night out in the Upstate.

Not sure what that means. We'll let geoff decide-- he's winning in both.

well you can't make this up. i took over morris brown, and the last human coach of morris brown is the next La Verne coach. funny stuff!

I woke up at 2:30 to not have a shot at La Verne. As theeyetest in the CAC and itest in the Upstate, I have gone 65-15 in conference play with each team over the last 5 seasons. 4 CCs in the Upstate and 2 CCs and 3 CTs in the CAC. Remarkably close in degree of success. However, I have been in the CAC longer (more recruiting cycles) and have had better teams over that run, so I think the CAC has been better. The Upstate restocked with great coaches over the last 2-3 seasons, so the balance of power could shift over the next 5 seasons.

but if ability to succeed in the conference is a parameter, doesn't that make the Upstate harder? I've done way better in the CAC... and there are no SIMs there.

though i will say, the CAC's ability to keep coaches has been awesome. we need options/acn to weigh in.

Well, I took over La Verne after much debate.  I have now set myself up to have the greatest fail in D3 WiS.   I am Gene Bartow at UCLA (coach after Wooden).  Hopefully I can have at least his success.
