Dealing with support via tickets HELP..Any ideas?? Topic

This might be the most ironic post in WIS history, but bleedinblue or whatever the guy's ID is is being an *******.

Though there's less control over this situation and you can make the argument that he got "screwed", this is kind of along the lines of, "I forgot to renew my team, let me have it back since no one else has taken it"...which is a whiny/***** ticket as well that just senselessly takes up CS/seble's time.

It sucks but own it...they knew exactly what you were talking about from the get, and you were belittling them about it...move on dude...

I don't think this is even close to the "I forgot to renew thing."This guy filled all 10 spots and then given an 11th game against a ****** sim. If you are going to compare this to the team renewal, it's more like a coach has additional season left on his team and then at job change period, lost his team because the sim glitched and is now asking for his team back.

And no, CS did not know what he was talking about initially since they kept telling him if you don't fill up your OOC, the sim will do it for you, meaning they didn't realize he fillled all 10 slots himself.

It's really a thems the breaks situation though, it wasn't intentional it just happened...ME-Farmington is on your schedule....onto the next one...

Easy solution would have been for CS to just change the game and give it to another simai and everyone's happy. This game dropped his rpi from #1 to #4, and it might affect his seeding come NT time.

no, the easy solution is for bleedinblue to own the randomness of the game, beat ME-Farmington, and move along.  It isn't, nor should it be open for discussion...like I said, thems the breaks

The tone of the support responses is unhelpful.

IF they had said to you:

I'm sorry, we draw a bright line and just never make changes to schedules.  The eleven game schedule is rare, but happens at times in otder to make things work.  We just cant open the can of worms of changing schedules - if we start to do it, we could end up enmeshed in a bunch of changes which we think is bad for the game.  So long as you win, one game against a weak opponent should not matter much.

Would it have been better?  I think that is the real answer.
Yes if they would have just came out and said we understand what you are asking and no we are not going to fix it that is not our policy,I probably would have dropped it.I can still choose whether or not I play this game. And the post on here was to see if there was any way around the dude that kept giving me answers to his questions not mine.
But I will say that I did everything right on my end as far as the schedule goes and I was just trying to leave it that way.I was not whining,I was trying to find a solution.Things did not work out like I wanted, but at least they finally answered my question.
I will say this as a customer. If I go to a restaurant and order a pasta dish and they bring me out a sandwich I am gonna say something till they fix the problem or kick me out.If I am paying for something I am not just gonna bend over and take whatever they give me.By some of the comments I read it seems like there are people out there that wouldn't say anything and just eat the stuff even if they didn't like it.Sorry but I am gonna say something every time...Call me crazy...or whatever else you want.

And once they answered my question I quit bugging them.

That's retarded. Clearly this is a mistake on WIS's part. So using your analogy of them the breaks and the "oops I forgot to reup," if you have season on a NC team and HD glitched and you lost your team, another coach took over, and you would be fine with it? thems the breaks right?

A mistake? A game that was randomly assigned to a team that happens regularly in the game is a mistake?  Am I missing something?  Bleedinblue was trying to infer that this game shouldn't have been on his schedule when in fact the process is random.

The second part of your comment is a different scenario.  Having a season and getting "glitched" out of "re-upping" isn't the same as forgetting to/not re-upping and expecting WIS to get you your team back...2 totally different situations...if you were glitched out of it, then you certainly should get it back.

There are 384 teams in D3. I'm 100% sure they can work out the schedules such that either 1) every team has 10 OOC games scheduled, with no teams having 11 games and no teams having 9 games or 2) if there is a need to have OOC games scheduled, have it be scheduled between 2 SIMAI teams.

There were cases a few weeks back where 3 teams in the same division of the same world, where 1 team had 12 games, and two others had 9 games, and CS refused to move 2 games of the 12 game team to the 2x 9 game team. This is not just random, this is clearly a coding error in scheduling.

As I said before, this can easily affect rpi, NT seeding, and whether you get bubbled out from the NT.

And given that there are off days in HD, I'm confident the first scenario of 10 OOC games for every team is easily achievable. W/o the off day, it's harder in that it's trying to fill up 10 spots with 10 items, or something akin to 10 permutation 10. But this is actually 11 spots for 10 items, so it's much easier to achieve for every team.

With humans scheduling games- it's not always possible to have 10 OOC games for every team.  There are bound to be times when two teams are left on a given day from the same conference.

Not arguing that those should effect human teams, but it's not always rosy that every single team could have 10 games.

Edit- Bolded the word that mattered most.  I know it's very possible.

it is definitely possible asher... if a world was entirely full of humans, i could possibly see it happening, although unlikely due to the volume of unscheduled teams. but with worlds half full, there is definitely a possible schedule that has 10 games per team. more likely, millions and billions of such schedules. finding one is the challenge - i think it could be done, but WIS probably just figured it wasn't worth the time.

Truely this should have been fixed long ago. No human team should be involved in the 11th game ( at random to balance the schedule), problem from the start. Write it so the engine doesn't involve human owned teams in this process.

It's not just scheduling 10 games. It's scheduling 10 games in 11 slots, which is much much easier.
