Does any other world have a team that won 3 straight NT titles at any level?

Shocking!!!

I didn't know anyone was in Wooden.

Stinenavy...definitely Wooden isnt as strong as a few others, but what jetsons has done has been pretty remarkable.  I get to watch his recruiting/gameplanning every season.  His Michigan Tech squad is a beast.

I say congrats...  Maybe one day my Southern IN team will be able to keep up, but right now, no hope.

Someone was 7 or 8 straight, maybe more, in one of the 2-a-day worlds

Rails won 8 of 9 in D2 Tark several seasons ago.  Knocked my Northeastern State squad out a couple of times along the way........

I'm no slouch in Wooden, having played in 25 consecutive NTs but  I can't hold a candle to jetson's team.  I managed  to defeat him this year, which makes me 2-9 lifetime vs. Michigan Tech

haha, yeah that was part of it, but I really wanted to see how often it is done. In DI it is impossible with all the early entries. In DII and DIII there is still a lot of luck to win in a 6 game tournament.

It isn't impossible at DI, it has been done at least once that I know of, OR at UConn in Tark (Seasons 16-18).  Girt has a shot this season in Allen, as his UNC team is 2-time defending champs and is pretty stacked again.

Also in Tark, SIU, Edwardsville won 3 straight and 4 in 5 seasons.

And, as mentioned earlier, the gold standard is West Chester in Tark, where Rails won 5 straight, lost in the Sweet-16, and promptly won another 3 straight.

Suddenly I feel insignificant. Those are absolutely amazing accomplishments by OR and Rails.

Not saying what they did isn't impressive, but if you look at the runs that were made by those guys and coach_billyg, they were all utilizing press during the time when press was an unstoppable monster. Not a coincidence that no m2m or zone teams ever had runs like that.

I think what you did in the new engine without the benefit of the press monster is equally impressive.

Anybody else find it somewhat ironic that a guy playing in Wooden is looking for examples of teams that went on NT championship runs?

schwab, I don't think your point is very valid because the vast majority of the well-coached human teams were running the press at that time.  Not all of them, certainly, but probably 60-75%.  So it's not like the few coaches who used it gained some huge advantage over everyone else...  everyone else was doing the same thing.  There are still a few very good coaches who don't use FSS now.  Does that mean that for the vast majority that do their accomplishments should be marked with an asterisk because they have this huge advantage from using FSS?  Of course not.  If anything, when everybody was running the press it was harder to recruit a full team that was great for its system because everybody was recruiting for the same system.

SIUE in d2 tark, where 9 titles, a best-ever 7 straight final fours, and a best-ever 14 straight elite 8s define one of the great dynasties in HD history
