Well the Mountain West has already done this in Tark. They are down to 3 coaches but 2 of them are title contenders every season in the last 4 seasons 1 of those 2 teams has been to the Final 4 every season with BYU losing in the title game back to back seasons and North Texas winning the title a couple seasons back. Also in seasons 38 and 39 Air Force and Colorado St. won back to back national titles.

If they have three coaches, that's not what I'm talking about. That's just a pair of two very good coaches/programs. That's not to take anything away from those guys, because they're kicking *** on their own.

And Tark is in Season 54. What happened in Season 38/39 isn't germaine to what we're talking about. I was in two similar conferences (CAA-Rupp and Big Sky-Allen) that produced national title winners and other F4 teams before the engine change. It's a brave new world, my man.

well they have 3 coaches now... at their peak, they were basically full, and i believe they even got the top rpi one season (at least they were at the top for a while). but, i agree, that was old engine, and does not really apply here. it was definitely impressive though.

also MWC was in tark, a 2 day. still a tough world, i don't mean that, but its way easier to keep people's attention for 10 seasons when its 10 months than 16 or whatever. i can't wait to jump on board!

we'll keep the light on for ya - btw, good job sticking behind an extra season. It should be a lot easier to snag that crown when we all moved up

lol! you got me there. i switched both off and def 3 seasons ago, and suffered heavily, but now have my whole first class, 6 guys, going to be seniors... so i just couldn't leave. plus i never won with the zone, and i think they have a shot... i thought about leaving, but couldn't bring myself to do it. i had no idea so many of d2 rupp's finest were moving on, that really does change the game. i kind of wish you guys stuck around to make it count all the way, but i suppose if i did win, i really wouldn't worry about that :)

That MWC in Tark was/is a killer. I got fired from it :(

dacj and girt, u guys are too much. First girt leaves and his NC team is open, tempting me to apply. I chose not to. All of a sudden, Shaw is open as well...tempting me to leave my d3 team

That Tark MWC conference was, and really still is, the real deal.  For many seasons, that conference had twelve human coaches and routinely posted conference RPI higher than many BCS conferences.  To minimize it in any way is just incorrect.

Of course it can be done again, I think you just need to have 12 committed coaches, if you can get that, you're on the right track.  Sounds like this C-USA might have it.

ARRR, I may just dust the cobwebs off this account.

The A10 in IBA has been in this position.  St. Bonaventure won multiple NT's, #1 conference RPI for 5-6 seasons.  Now has 8 coaches and remains #4 conference RPI, probably sending 7 of 8 human coached teams to the NT.
