Okay, lets break it down. I have 10 K... I want , or I don't know what I want. Let me send this C a bunch of HV and CV's Wow it cost me half my money. I can send only two more Schollies to see if they are interested... Wow, I'm outtta cash... If I had only found out their interest before hand... Geesh. Why didn't someone tell me that???

Is that even tangential to what's been discussed? Has anyone here advocated offering HV and CVs to a D2 player from a D3 school?

The question is can you determine if a player can be pulled down with a $10 phone call? If yes, then obviously the phone call is the more cost effective method compared to offering a scholarship right off the bat.

From the way you have been posting and your approach to pulling down players, I guess I have to agree that I am a much better coach than you are.

I have $10k and I'm looking at 10 potential players for 3 open spots.

Using the jbrew method, I'd send a scholarship offer to each player, eating up $1k.  I now have $9k to spend on 3 spots ($3k/spot).

Using the conventional phone call method, I'd send a single phone call to each player, eating up $100.  I now have $9,900 to spend on 3 spots ($3,300/spot).

Basically costing yourself around a HV per player in this example, depending on the distance.  And, from the scholarship offers, you'd have no idea if the kid was immediately recruitable or if you'd have to pull him down.  So you wouldn't know if you should start sending HV/CV or if you need to send SV to get him down.

It's not like you addressed the poster's question either. Dropdowns are based by prestige, starting with A+ going downward. Offering a scholarship will not make someone dropped down faster.

And since you are still using the scholarship approach to see if a player can be pulldown/dropped down, you seriously need to change it because you are just wasting cash.

Yes you can pull down a recruit. Yes you can spend 100's of phone calls. If he rejects you schollie you can move on.

Lol, so let me get this straight. Using your approach, if the player does not reject your schollie, you follow it up with 100 phone calls to pulldown?

dropdowns have nothing to do with Prestige, It's all about the cash your willing to spend.
