Recruiting pulldowns Topic

as a new coach, wouldn't i want to do it the correct way? when i started out, i sifted through thread after thread trying to pick up useful knowledge. i don't see how your method is a shortcut for new coaches.

Okay let me break it down for you. You just took over a new team and you've never been here before. What did you do the first time??? How did that work out for you?? I know the Sim gods looked out for you and you signed an all american class.   I am speaking from my first experience and how I wish I could have approached it rather than how you guys know every knook and cranny of the emails. That was the Question I think.
That's not the question he asked. The question he asked is if he doesn't put in the full pulldown effort but only puts in a partial effort, will the player drop faster and drop to him first.

Example: Team A, a D3 team, is interested in Player A, a D2 player. Player A can be pulled down and needs 15 SVs to pulldown. Suppose Team A only put in 10 SVs, which is insufficient to pulldown, will the 10 SV help Team A in that Player A drops down earlier and to him first.

This is not even close to what you are trying to make it seem, aka, "how do you recruit and how do you pulldown."

And again, your pulldown method is vastly inferior. I said it before, if we are going to start with the point of a view of a new coach with a blank slate, why not teach him the right way to pulldown with 1 phone call?

If I spent 1000 on ten guys and 4 turned me down i'd be down 400. I would be in for 1000.

okay.  let me break it down for you. . . .

now that YOU have coached for 60+ seasons of HD. . . . .

WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU SPEND $100 on something, when all you have to do is spend $10 and get the same info (actually MORE)

you just said and i quote "I would use the 100 dollar method every day of the week .. not the 10"

you are wasting $90

I can't speak for the others but I'm pretty good at math, and can recognize that $10 < $100.

Now please answer my question from earlier. If scholarship method is superior to phone call, why do you bother to call the recruit as well (which you said yourself, you do both). If these two methods are equal, why would you pay $100 when it can be done with $10.

you spend $600
and now you might have to deal with retracting scholarships
and you could have gotten THE SAME info for $60.

$540 would be saved.  could you imagine having an extra $540 in a close recruiting battle?  sometimes all it takes is one more HV.  sucks that you wasted $540 for no reason.

you only have to make ONE call.

why do you think we have to make multiple call??  ONE call gives you the answer you need EVER time

Why would you spend money on more than 1 phone call per recruit? I just told you, if the phone call comes back with anything other than "backup" or "fallback" in it, the recruit cannot be pulled down. That's the only criterion you need to evaluate a phone call. Where do you get "ton in more phone calls"
