dropdowns have nothing to do with Prestige, It's all about the cash your willing to spend.
did you really mean this quote? i thought it was a gem.
its true though.  if you're in DI and have a C prestige. . . all you have to do is spend $380k to steal a guy away from an A prestige that spend $20k
that's all? oh my.

ok tianyi, scratch that. me and polo will get banned for a month.
i have seen ppl get banned for much simpler things in GD, like making a thread about how the new engine sucks and CS is clueless about how the engine works.

LOL, glad they don't have that policy here, i am pretty sure we would be down to a half dozen coaches or so :)

remember that ticket where seble was telling us that 75 rebound was good for a d1 pf back in the coin flip dynasty days? or the one where CS insisted, even after zhawks replied 15 times, that you could set double teams in the press? even after he showed them the bottom of the page where it says, you cannot double team in the press? that was classic.
3/9/2011 4:23 PM
i think seble hated me ever since that 75 rebounding one, because nobody knew if it was CS or seble, and i suggested that CS should sign their names so we could know if it was an answer from the developer or from some idiot teen who has smoked entirely too much weed. and then it was seble :O

haha coin flip dynasty. that was the name for the new gd engine.

alright, taking bets. . . .

will jbrewman stick by his stance of offering a scholarship.  or will he come and say something like "oh, i was just messing with you guys, i knew all along"

stubborn stance (-330)
i was joking around (+280)
3/9/2011 4:46 PM
15 to 1 odds that he admits he was wrong
3/9/2011 4:47 PM
Not stubborn at all just telling it like it was. I will always offer the schollie before i'd call someone 10 times.

I'm not sure what liking or not liking battles has to do with anything.  You spend $100 to find the same information the rest of us get for $10.  Honestly I wouldn't mind finding myself in a recruting battle with the great jbrewman.  That way I would know you had blown a bunch of money on scholarship offers to get the same info I got for a $10 phone call.  Every player you do that on is $90 more you have spent on that player than me.  See, I work with very, very complex financial analysis models for a living.  I understand numbers.  $100-$10=$90.  What you seem to have failed to grasp here (or perhaps you grasp this knowledge just fine and you are just enjoying wasting your day away) is that you don't have to make multiple phone calls to player to find out if he can be pulled down or not.  It can be done with a simple $10 phone call as opposed to a more expenseive $100 scholarship offer.

You've been playing this game a lot longer than I have and I'm sure you have discovered a few pearls of wisdom that someday might be useful to me.  That said, after your little diatribe about the merits of $100 scholarship offers in discovering whether or not a player can be pulled down I can only assume that everything you say is simply idiotic.

Again, thanks for the laughs!

Yes, but would you offer a schollie before you call a player 1 time?  That is really the question here.
3/9/2011 4:50 PM
I offer the schollie and make the 10 dollar phone call at the same time. If the schollie is rejected I don't have to worry about the backup option or the left 4 messages and got a call back. Then I can either move on or keep on being a backup option. What is so hard to understand about that??? If he keeps the schollie open then I know for sure he will be mine. If I want. I won't spend thousands to chase something I won't get if the phone call says i'm a backup option if my big schools don't pan out.
