You have a right to feel sorry for yourself.  Nobody's trying to take that away from you.

But stop and think for a minute:  You have the Steelers.  We have the Chiefs.
Not a Steelers fan, just went to Pitt

I have the Eagles which are right on level with Pitt

I have a hard time believing you don't get the point he is making dahsdebater. Clearly, when one is expected to win, and you find new and ridiculous ways to do it, then clearly the team may be incompetent. If you expected him to come out and qualify his statement from every possible angle on a web forum, then I believe that expectation was the stupidest argument I've ever heard. Honestly.

Everyone here knew what he was getting at.

And to stay on topic, that game tonight was unbelievable. Sadly, my wife, who doesn't watch a lot of basketball called it when she filled out her bracket. She said "I'm not picking Pitt because I don't trust those football schools to win basketball games". Flawed as the logic may be, she did pick this upset game in her bracket!

No sense trying to explain yourself Sub.  That guy tries to shoot holes in everyone's posts and/or arguments.  I mean, look at his ID, he obviously likes to argue, he's got the word "debater" in there.    Oh, and I'm sorry if I contradicted myself in any part of this post.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to graduate from one school and enroll in yet another.  Little thing called "real life" got in the way.......but I will admit, it's pretty damn cool that he's trying to get as much education as possible.

We need more of the youths of this generation to have the same aspirations and goals as he does.  Too damn many kids now just try to skate through, thinking there's some professional sports contract out there waiting for them.  Or they skate through thinking that because they were considered "cool" in high school that some major corporation will just up and hire them.  Got news for those kind of guys, the kids you call "nerds", well, they get the best jobs and the most money.  Kudos to you Debater for trying to gain as much knowledge as you can.  Because that old saying, "Knowledge is power", well it's true.

Off my soapbox for now.  Have a nice night gents (and I fully expect pinkeye to make an appearance shortly after this is posted.  Don't know why he seems to follow me around me so much, but I guess everyone needs a hobby).

I liked the Kansas fans comment on the 1st page, "And everybody falls sometime". I like to remind myself less than 20% of all teams make the tourney. Of those, more than 98% end the season losing. Unless of course your a top 10 team. Then your odds of losing your last team are only greater than 95%!

That's the stupidest argument I ever heard.  Honestly.  If you came to a different conclusion, maybe.  But "How is it possible for 1 school to be this incompetent in both football and basketball at the same time" is just ridiculous.  Your entire discussion centers around rankings, bowl games, and tournament games.  You know what percentage of D1 basketball teams have been in the tournament enough times in the past 10 years to lose to the 5 teams you mentioned?  Plus the other appearances Pitt has made...  You don't get 1 and 3 seeds and pre-season rankings by being "incompetent."  Sorry.
its a lot more heartbreaking to be a fan of a team that comes close and loses than a team that is terrible.

I picked Pitt to go to the Final Four in my bracket because I just didn't see anyone else in that region that I thought could go very far.  But the whole time I'm writing them in, I'm thinking about their recent history and second-guessing myself.  I should have listened to those doubts, although I still can't figure out who in that region I'd have chosen instead.

Next year, though, I am going to heed that inner voice.  I don't care how they are seeded, I will not pick them to go any further than the Sweet 16 - and maybe not that far.  Won't get fooled again.

I don't know if I have ever seen a player commit a foul that stupid.

Davis, agreed on the stupid foul.  I know this doesn't do a thing for the Pitt fans, but "Stupid play of the day" yesterday actually goes to Texas. Forget the 5 second call that wasn't a time out.   Down 1 with 9 seconds to go, why do you WALK THE BALL UP THE FLOOR?

That game was one instance where real life mimiced HD; I really thought I was reading a PbP but it was actually taking place for all to see.

Funny - how many of the rest of you think HD when you're watching the tournament?

*raises hand*

"They went -2 and those guards are killing them!"
