Has anyone noticed the impact of the recent update Topic

I am talking about the so called "increased separation" between "good" passing teams and "bad" passing teams  and also the "increased separation" in individual rebounding matchups.  I have noticed terrible rebounding teams getting decimated on the boards, but other than that, I was not even aware of the update.  Any thoughts? Observations?

Haven't really noticed passing, but rebounding is now a lot more important than it was before. I've found that a good rebounding 3 will absolutely make a huge impact with putbacks/offensive rebounds now.

well.  jacobsen on my team has greatly improved his rebounding between last season and this one, pretty much starting with the update.

Yeah, that's a definite post-update rebounder. He has such low athleticism, I really can't believe he's pulling down almost 9 a game.

so now ath isn't important anymore?

I had a 30 ath 99 reb guy pull 10+ a game in about 25mpg preupdate. I think this guy's rebounding progression isn't out of line, and got only a slight boost from the update.

4.9 reb in 18.5 min = .265reb/min.
8.3/25.3 = .328

He gained 4 ath and 4 reb in season, and probably gained at least 1 in each category during rollover. Throw in the possibility that a good rebounding big might have graduated.

I have seen an increase in the number of assists in some games, and I've noticed (at least in the PBP) passes (assists) occurring during shots off turnovers more often than they used to.

Absolutely in passing.

One of my biggest complaints was that my great D3 passing players/teams weren't performing as well as they should.

Now: Hamline

19 apg/13 tpg and a guy averagin 7.9/1.6.  I'm excited about the change with the PGs I try to recruit.

Hardly.  I bet if you gave another guy the same ratings plus twenty points of ATH on that guy, the guy with the ATH would still beat him. . its just that ATH alone doesn't always trump rebound rating now.

The passing update doesnt affect how well your teams play.  It's a cosmetic change to give your players more assists.  Nothing more.

You're right, it just seems like it.

per the release notes.  I take this to mean that the changes in assists do not affect the outcome of games, but the changes in rebounding can affect the outcome of games.  Does anyone agree or disagree with my assessment?
  • Adjusted assist odds for a team to create more separation between good passing teams and poor passing teams. This does not change the impact of passing on FG%.
  • Added an individual player matchup component to rebounding, so that a mismatch will produce better numbers from the player with the advantage. This will in turn create a little more separation between the truly good rebounding teams and poor rebounding teams.

Definitely yes
