I am a DII schoold with B prestige pulling down a D1 player at 480 miles away.  A DI human team with D- prestige swoops in on the next cycle and is recruiting from 180 miles away.  Although FSS doesn't indicate I am leading, his message to me in that same cycle was that I was leading.  The DI team has 4 openings, but only has this guy considering him.  Am I gonna get priced out quickly?  Should I invest more, or cut my losses and run?

Cut and run. He has distance, cash and prestige on you. It's a losing battle.

RUN

if you're winning though dont rescind the schollie offer since the other school might just want him as a backup option

Don't "RUN", but be ready to cut your losses. Play it nuetral for a couple 2/3 cycles, keep sending the "call recruit" option (it only cost $10), and see where you sit. There's definitely the possibility your gonna lose him, but there is also the possibilty that the SIM might decide on a different player/s.

I see looking at the dates, that it's been a day in the recruit cycles, so where do you stand now?

use your money to find another player.

ETA: and you might not want to openly publish your recruiting budget...

Might want to keep an eye on his targets.  If he signs 4 guys, the 2 guys that were considering him (of the original 6) will drop to undecided and be open to be recruited.

If he has anything of value there in case he signs your guy, that could give you a backup option.

Moot point.  He signed on the first cycle.  Probably a good idea not to get more involved.  I still have enough cash to go after a decent player to fill that last spot.  I went after the top 2 guys that I wanted at a certain position.  I got #2, which was still a fantastic player.  I'm good to go.

How are Wise's and Abbate's potentials? Because with work ethics like that...

Sometimes patience is key. With my Phelan D2 team I went after Iverson then Boise St showed up considering him so I stopped recruiting him, then a BCS school (I want to say Virginia Tech) showed up, too, so I just moved on and went after other guys, but left one spot open,  I guess Boise figured they weren't going to get him and filled their schollies, and the BCS school must have just had him as a backup because they filled their open spots, so I was able to sign him. I've been able to sign a couple guys over D1 schools, but only when I had lots of money and the distance advantage.

Wise has a few high-high's in some good areas, and Abbate is just a freak.  I'm feeling pretty good about this class.  I've filled 4 of 5 schollies and am searching for just the right guy to fill the last spot.
