taking sim recruits away Topic

Have never gone the route of taking a sim recruit away but curious since the player has huge upside, close to home, within recruiting range, not high enough to worry about human couches taking him. The sim is a d prestige, I am d2 B+. He has 6 slots with 4 considering. Has the sim put 10k into him? Not sure if they put all in or if rules have changed so maybe its half now, half after signings?

I had a d1 sim school that the word on the street said very tight that it took 45 evals to snag.  That was the most it ever cost me the average were 10 -15 evals

So I am thinking incorrectly by picturing that the sim spent 10k, a d1 schollie amount on him? No word on the street yet from the recruit.

FYI, DI scholly money is $15K per.

sims don't use money. anyway, you basically have 2 options. 1) wait for word on the street, if its not very tight or similar, you are in the clear. 2) try to guess who the sim's #1, #2, #3, #4 options are. if #3 or #4, you are in the clear, if #2, you can probably pull it off. if #1, you are out of luck.

He wasn't saying that was how much they spent, he was saying that's the value of a schollie.

They may have spent just a few thousand, or may have spend $30,000.

As others have suggested, FSS is the biggest indicator. If they're not tight with a recruit, you can certainly make a push. If they are tight with a recruit, it's a pretty big and probably even unlikely risk, and one that I wouldn't take.

i recieved the first call. no back up option for a pull down anyway.

Excellent advice from both Gillispie and Girt.  Anyone who finds themselves in this situation would be well advised to read those two particular posts.

Important question everyone has overlooked. Is the SIM school your talking about D1 or D11? If it's D11, just go balls to the wall now, your odds are about 2 to 1 that you can snag him. If it's a D1 school, listen to Gillispie and Girt, they know what they're talking about.

Sim is a d1 school that is why I wanted to get clarification. Great advice I will use in future. This guy had 9 high categories, ath, spd, def etc. End up high 70s 80s in all 3 with 60+ we just at a low high potential. No idea about avg or above in class, court, etc.

If I get this message "I've been waiting my whole life to get this call from Florida Southern! I'm not going to rush my decision, but right now, you're #1 on my list." do I need to worry about the SIM taking him back away?

As billyg told me in a sitemail once, a 3 openings for 1 considering player is as bad as it gets. Simmy will dump almost its entire budget on the one player in that situation. 4 for 2 isn't much better but somewhat doable. Anything more than 4 and you should be able to cherrypick the worst/2nd worst recruit fairly easily even if it says very tight.

I've never had a sim push back. They only tighten their grip with their lower targets as recruiting goes along imo.
