first season playing flex.  is this player just a lucky draw or can recruiting high lp,per as the main criteria even if other cores are nothing special override low BBIQ? is this the way for teams to win with freshmen ? 70+ lp,per D3, 80+ d2, 90+d1. spent seasons developing and resigned to growing pains but now wonder why.

I don't see a high LP?

Clarified: either lp or per. Not both

I think that really it could apply, especially at d3, to ANY major core being extremely high compared to league average.  For example, Klein on my roster with a +90 ath as a frosh is doing quite well - even though he is a glacier.

For this player, he has extremely high pe for D3 and that is allowing him to do one thing (shoot 3p's) very well right off the bat.

That said, he looks to be a liability everywhere else, perhaps a severe one. Defensively, he has more than twice as many fouls as any of your other guards or small forwards and even a quick look at the pbp shows him getting torched. And offensively, he has more turnovers than assists, which is obviously really bad for a guard.

Think of him as a stand still 3p shooter in real life, a guy who can definitely drill an open three but can't do much else.

Thanks for the info. A liability on def for sure. Steve Kerr without any defense.

He's JJ Reddick.  Also, @4green2, Klein is one of the better non-redshirt D3 freshmen I've ever seen.  Nice recruit.
