I guess it would help if you actually read my first post all the way through.
Read ur first post all the way through the first time, but didn't see the edit. My response was to your new post, which somehow came after ur edit of the first post...

It's spelled Hwang now, but definately the family name. Either way very interesting.

I doubt that because I edited the first post immediately after posting it, which is why the second one came after.  Anyway, I think we have all always agreed on the family name.  The issue now is that WIS doesn't understand how Korean names work.

But still cool.  Too bad we can't figure out if they are from the same place.

I think they used Korean names perfectly fine. I'm Chinese and in China, names are the same way, surname first, given name second. But when you come to America, you flip it. Similarly, Koreans do the same thing. My college Korean friends refer to themselves the same way, given name first, surname second. My buddy introduced himself as Chaz Lee, not Lee Chaz, and Daniel Kim rather than Kim Daniel.

I think there is a distinction between South Korean and South Korean-American (which I assume your friends are), but yeah, in the end, you're probably right.

Funny, it's actually thinking about Yao that made me change my mind.
