I'd probably slightly prefer to take a shot on McGlade, but it's close.  If Gentile's BH explodes it could definitely tip the scales.

I would take Gentile.  You're guaranteed a guy with 85 ath/95 spd/80+ def/60+ per/70+ bh/90 stam.

McGlade will have a better def rating and lp rating, but that's probably it, and the speed difference makes up for the def difference unless you can get 35+ from McGlade in speed.

Let's put it this way, I think Gentile is the safer pick.

A lot of this depends on what the average ratings are, too.  If Gentile's ath/def/per/and pass all have 15 points left, then I think he's easily better.

I like Gentile slightly. He should be able to play earlier and with that probably increases the WE enough to get most everything out of his potential. As Seniors alone, I think they will be comparable.

I love McGlade's D, but he could max out at 80 or 81 spd. Gentile is going to at least 90. BH its Gentile 73+ to a max of 77 for McGlade. Gentile's high pot in FT is good for me to. I like driving guards that score inside and get fouled. Gentile should be better at that than McGlade. In a different system I might make a diff choice. I would take Gentile.

I don't think you could go wrong with either PG but I'd take Gentile.

I like McGlade better, especially with a redshirt.

Gentile by quite a bit imo.

You like driving guards that score inside, so you like the guy with the 1 LP?

you don't need lp to score inside

From the Dev Chat on 6/27/2008:

Can you break down the exact differences between PE and LP in the new engine? More specifically, certain guards with excellent BH but poor PE can score with some efficiency in the current engine with the dribble drive. Will guards now need LP to finish in the lane on a drive, or will LP only apply to post up's, tips, alley-oops, etc?(narcotico - Hall of Famer - 12:29 PM)

It's best to think of Perimeter as "outside scoring" and Low Post as "inside scoring". I know the term "Low Post" isn't the best descriptor for what that rating will mean. Scoring, both inside and outside, is impacted by Ball Handling, Speed, and Athleticism.

you'll score better with lp, but can still score with ath, spd bh and FT shooting, all of which Gentile has.

Don't want to start a new thread when my issue is about the same except it is for two recruits for which I currently have no scouting trips on. These are two Point Guards and. If someone can tell me if one player will easily be better than the other please agree because some people might have the opposite opinion.

Recruit 1
Athleticism 43 High   Perimeter 25 Average
Speed 55 High   Ball Handling 32 High
Rebounding 1 Low   Passing 26 High
Defense 56 High   Stamina 73 Average
Shot Blocking 1 Low   Durability 52 Low
Low-post 13 Average   FT Shooting   Low

Recruit 2
Athleticism 45 Low   Perimeter 27 High
Speed 60 Low   Ball Handling 53 High
Rebounding 1 Low   Passing 36 High
Defense 25 Average   Stamina 72 High
Shot Blocking 1 Low   Durability 59 High
Low-post 12 High   FT Shooting   High

By the way, this is for D3 for a team that runs fastbreak.

Player 1's WE is 34 and Player 2's WE is 36.

I'm leaning towards Player 1 because I am trying to focus on defense now and offensive improvement for the future. What do you think?

#1 is much better than #2.

I'd prefer #1 as well, but not very strongly.
