Hypothetical D2 backcourt. Both PGs. I have my thoughts on this, but will hold off until I hear other thoughts. Who would be your PG and who would be your SG and why?

Name Yr Pos A SPD REB DE BLK LP PE BH P WE ST DU FT TOT
Kareem Reid Sr PG 65 70 1 70 1 20 80 85 50 60 90 99 A 691
Lee Mayberry So PG 50 90 1 50 1 35 85 60 75 50 90 50 B 637

Reid at SG, Mayberry at PG. Even though hes lower at lp Reids ath makes up for it, and his better bh means he can make his own shots, while Mayberry has better passing. Also Reids better de makes it easier to guard other teams scoring guards (if you run a mtm) Finally, Use Mayberrys spd to create vs. other  slower pgs. Than again, nothing wrong with changing the positions depending on the matchups with the other teams as well. Just my 2C.

I agree with nbstowman. I want the best speed and passing at PG.

50 passing really doesn't cut it even for a D3 PG.  No contest, Mayberry is the PG.  The only possible counterargument is that based on their years, it seems likely that Reid has a significantly better IQ, and that plays in at PG more than anywhere else.  But I'd still go with Mayberry.

Yeah, have to have passing at the point.

Seems everyone shares my thoughts as well. I like having SPD at the PG and ATH at the SG.  So that alone puts Mayberry at PG and Reid at SG.  And combine Reid's BH with his ATH and PE, he should be an ideal scoring threat at SG.

Then the question comes down to would you rather have a PG with excellent BH and suspect P or a PG with excellent P and suspect BH.  I go with the latter and choose Mayberry at PG again.

So in summation, the SPD+PE+P guy at PG and ATH+PE+BH guy at SG.

I think the only time I can think that Reid may be used at the PG instead is against the press to utilize his BH. Or does that even matter?

Arkansas fan I take it? I actually went to the same high school as Reid, he graduated 5or 6 years before I started. Anyway, I'd put Mayberry at PG but there is no way Kareem Reid is only a 70 speed, lol.
