Plus, Dirk has a happier personal life. His new girlfriend is very beautiful and well-grounded, unlike Cristal Taylor with her 8 aliases and fake pregnancy

Yeah Mavs! The only thing I worry about is age.

And if they dont, Cuban will snag Dwight Howard OR Deron Williams/Chris Paul and the Mavs will be dirty.

For who?  They aren't getting any of these guys without Dirk involved.  This might work in your fantasy league but I would say it's highly unlikely.

When its a guy who is going to leave in the off season any way the team will give them away.  Look at the Melo trade.

I found it a bit interesting to see Chris Paul sitting two seats from the Heat bench during a few of the playoff games in Miami.

Not sure how Paul could fit under the cap in Miami or Dallas, especially with the talk of the NBA wanting salaries rolled back 30% or so in the next CBA.

Its called sign and trade (if the league doesnt do away with them in the new CBA).  If they want out of their current situations, they can be had for 70 cents on the dollar.  We could give up Tyson Chandler, Butler's expiring contract, and either Roddy Beaubois or a draft pick and that should work out.

The sad thing is it probably would and could and maybe will. But if it does, this is another example of the idiocy of these contracts and deals. Basically you've traded Tyson Chandler for Dwight Howard? That's ridiculous... but so was Pau Gasol for Kwame effing Brown and Kevin Garnett for Al Jefferson... sometimes this league...

What would be better making those trades and getting something in return or losing them for absolutely nothing which is essentially what happened to the Cavs and Raptors this past season? Memphis also got Marc Gasol in that trade, and he's pretty good. Let's not sell Al Jefferson short, he was coming off a 16ppg, 11rpg game season and was just 22 when the trade happened. His first year 2 years in Minny he averaged 21 and 11 and 23 and 11 and then injuries happened that have slowed him down a bit but he's still a very good big. Putting him in the same convo as Kwame Brown is absurd.

Cavs did a sign and trade as well. So did Raptors. Both also got trade exceptions, if we are going to talk about all the extra bs in these things. Honestly, I guess I should have left this thread alone, since I don't feel like doing research to support any deeper argument, so I concede...cheers.

Chandler, Butler, Barea, and Stevenson are all free agents (not to mention the powerhouses that are Peja and Brian Cardinal) and there is no way they bring them all back.

Peja  is just glad someone finally mentioned his name. rick carlisle made him sit in the car for the entire series.
