I have a team in Tark and I want to get a second team going in another world.  I'm looking for a good  active conference.   If you know of one with openings let me know.

definitely looking to add to the SUNYAC in Crum...
four very active coaches right now, two A programs, two up-and-coming programs, and there are a bunch of viable options to take for next season

I'm new so I don't know how much harder Div II is and if I'm ready for it.   but I'd try Div II.   Can you move up that quick ?

Northwest in Naismith is pretty good. Almost full conf in a great D3 world.

Northwest in Smith is very active as well.

lucky, you should go to a conference that's nearly full. Nothing against this one, but it makes a huge difference.

D3 Wooden.  And I disagree with anyone who thinks that moving up before you're ready is a good idea.  If a "mentor" is just going to tell you what to do, what's the point in that?  I think the reason people leave the game, at least to some extent, is because of a lack of success, which comes from a lack of knowing what you're doing.

Enter annoying voice-

"Why when I started HD, you had to learn how to really win at D3 before you could move up to D2.  And you had players with all 95's at D1.  You didn't get to schedule your games, the engine did it for you!  And there were only 6 worlds to choose from!..."

But to agree with isack, there isn't a thing wrong with getting up to D2.  I would just caution that you truly know how to build a decent D3 team over a couple of seasons (at least to the point you're personally happy with the results), before moving up.

As for which world- start with 2-a-day or 1-a-day- whichever you prefer is the first place to look.  Each world has good conferences, and bad conferences.  Those even can change in a couple of seasons as well.  I would not, however, recommend one of the D3 power conferences, unless you're sure you have a thick skin to losing.  You'll learn more somewhere like a S. Cal or CCIW in Knight, but you will have horrid records while doing so.

well we gotta start somewhere, right?

plus coming into a not empty yet not nearly-filled conference can have its perks

not competing against so many top coaches all the time
ability to start from scratch with the chance of realistically improving
recruiting against a lot of simmies locally... etc., etc.

Allen D11 West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. We have 9 very active coaches. This past season we had 2 NT teams and 3 PIT teams and are regulary in the top 10 of Conference RPI.

I agree with Girt and Isack

This is why I only nominated my conf in Naismith, which is sitting at 8 coaches. Naismith is also very competitive, with Upstate and Freedom conf full. I know you are in my conf in Tark and I'm not very active on the message boards there, but that's only become our conf in Tark has only 2 teams. Can't really be active when most of the time, you are messaging yourself.

Northwest in Naismith sent 4 teams to the NT last season, and if I correctly estimate my team and my conf, we should be sending 5 next yr.

CVAC in Phelan, though we won't be starting for a while

We are in rollover right now. Today is day one of 3 of coaching changes, than 2 days of new coaches, than recruiting starts.

Time to move up than to the (WVIAC) West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference than. We have 9 of 12 coaches, 5 of the 12 went to the post season, we are always in the top 10 for Conference RPI, and we have some serious smack talk as well. The conference is alot of fun and we are in a great area for recruiting. You're close to Ohio, Penn, NY, Maryland, Virginia, NC, & Kentucky for states as well as Philly, Pitt, NYC, Baltimore, DC, Lexington, and Chapel Hill for cities.

Of course, all of those southern states have some competition from the greatest D2 conference ever ;)
