so what if WIS announced that in 3 or 4 seasons a world would close.  People in that world could move into any open job in any world for which they qualified based on their record in the world being closed, but with a transition prestige boost of say one-third of a grade.....so if you were a B+, you get to move into a job that would take an A- normally

applications could be made at any time and teams would be reserved

folks who moved in the first season of movement get 4 free seasons, 3 free seasons if you move in the next, etc

at some point the world dies in an incredible virtual supernova

that kind of scheme MIGHT make most people okay with the move - and might even create a rush to move while the good spots in the surviving worlds are out there

closing worlds would not be good for the game - the average coach wants more competition less than some of you guys think (heck you might even want the competition less than you think) and ... most need more competition even less than they want it.  Sim teams are the perfect 'washington generals' to the human harlem globetrotters here - to my eye watching coaches and conferences for now over ten years here - winning games is far and away the most fun thing in HD for most participants - competition is only great when you can beat it so to speak.

If I ever finally (*not there yet, 17 seasons in my primary D I world and counting) get to my destination school of Syracuse, and then someone wants to give me 3 or 4 free seasons to go coach in the MWC or A10 I'm going to tell them to shove it up their ***.

I just went 16-0 in the OVC for the third straight season, and the fun is starting to wane.  There is only one other human player in the league.  It would be great to be in a league without so many Sim AIs.  I'd be willing to give up my team if there were some kind of incentive to switch - free season or something.

The Big East in Allen has 3 openings. With your string of 16-0s I'm surprised you didn't qualify for any of them. Your incentive to give up the team is that aforementioned desire to be in a conference with fewer sims. You have the power.

great point....My Wentworth Tech team in DIII is probably one of the 10 best DIII programs in all worlds and I could care less if there are humans in the conference or not.

Can we fix this and not have the solution be waiting for the economy to get better/ "better-marketing"?
I didn't read this all so maybe someone else pointed this out but you have .579 win pct career, how much more competition do you want?

I started in season 2 of Tark.  Took me until season 47 to get to my final destination at Duke.  I'm sure there are many other coaches who have been in similar situations and probably more than a few that are still trying to reach their destination school.  Somehow I just don't think a free season or two is gonna be enough to entice coaches who have waited that long to get to said schools to give them up.

That being said, I DO think there are too many worlds and too many conferences full of Sims.  However, trying to figure out how to contract worlds (which ones, compensation for coaches, etc.) would be an absolute logistical nightmare.

I tend to agree with this also.
