I've never before had a full section of my team that I thought might be the best in it's world. Right now my Juniata squad has a frontcourt that may be the best in Phelan D3 (Wisconsin, Stout and Wabash are also quite good; if I missed anybody else I apologize). Anyway, I don't begin to fancy that this is the best frontcourt in any world. Phelan has a fairly small population of human coaches; I'm sure somebody somewhere has put together a MUCH more potent group of guys. I can certainly imagine a better frontcourt, and I've had a few better frontcourt PLAYERS on other teams in the past, so there is obviously significant room for improvement. A lot of the strength is just in depth. Anyway, kinda just bragging about them but also want to see what other great frontcourts coaches have put together.
starting SF:
Robert Rothermel - good shooter, adequate defender
starting PF/1st backup SF:
Martin Walton - was better last year when I didn't need him to put in the SF minutes
starting C:
John Lee - this guy was great as a sophomore and now dominant as a junior and is one of the best 2-way players I've had; unfortunately, he doesn't have much room left to grow
1st backup C&PF/2nd backup SF:
Robert Maheu - he lacks the physical gifts of the starters but has the talent to make up for it with a huge REB/BLK/LP combo; currently Juniata's 4th all-time leading rebounder and could move up as high as #1 by the time he graduates
2nd backup C :
Walter Embry - will probably be the starting C next year and push Lee to PF
3rd backup C/2nd backup PF:
Aaron Lee - the real strength of a group is that a guy like Lee the younger, who has a solid all-around game and is a reasonable defender, rebounder, and scorer, has his highest depth-chart appearance in a 3rd position
also seeing a few minutes here and there and being extremely efficient in them:
Donald Bullard
