in my previous semester all of my players cleared the gpa hurdle with no problem, now with the same study hall minutes i have 7 players on academic warning, huh?

another thing that is the new normal.

ETA: I have a kid that had a 2.9 last semester who is getting 15 minutes of SH and still posted a 1.7. Now he's getting 40 minutes...lets see if he stays eligible...

Has been and always will be the new normal.  Just like Brazil is the country of the future and always will be.

The one guy I ended up losing to eligibility was at a 2.1 for mid-term, I increased his study hall minutes by 5, and he finishes with a 1.8  Is this typical?  Everyone else I had warnings about I increased study hall minutes and their GPA increased.

Just had the same thing happen to me except 2.2 to a 1.9 with an increase of 5 in study hall.

People have been complaining about grades since I have been reading the forums.  Grades are random and have only a small dependence on study hall minutes; the result is people constantly complaining about the results because they have little control over it.

Kinda like in real life...

well i'm a little paranoid now after losing about 5 players on 6 teams in the past month, when I haven't lost anyone for the first 8 months or so of playing. Just doubled the SH of my players. better to err on the side of caution

I normally do 10 minutes for all Freshmen SH hours ...

So. on the formula:  (3.6-GPA)x10 ... (2 minimum for everyone, even if above 3.6 and 10 MAX)

Jr. on the formula:  (3.2-GPA)x10 ... (1 minimum for everyone, even if above 3.2 and 10 MAX)

Sr. on the formula:  (3.0-GPA)x10 ... (1 minimum for everyone, even if above 3.0 and 10 MAX)

only if that formula still works. i just had a SO* go ineligible with 15 min, and his gpa was 2.9.

It is possible that there is going to be a one off every now and then.

I have never had anyone fail ... but I am sure it can happen.

You guys are setting the minutes at the beginning of practice time (after the first exhibition game) ... not waiting until the grades come out and then setting minutes, right?
