Anything to do to keep an ineligible recruit from going juco??

theoretically they have a better chance to stay if they get more love (recruiting effort)

I believe that more effort makes it more likely that they will stay. I think I may have even asked that in a dev chat long ago and been told yes, but I cant be sure. Of course, no way to confirm, but I think so.....although I have had guys go juco even with lots of effort.

I can confirm that somebody asked it in a dev chat and was told yes but I can't be sure it was you fd.  Wish I could help more.

Any chance that taking a walk-on will make the ineligible more likely to stay?

Aside from having more money to throw at the ineligible, I don't see why that would matter.

Hmmm. Took a walk-on ... and my ineligible stayed. Relation? I don't know. Here is the message when I signed him -

"Just got the word on the signing of ......................................... I'd be surprised if he doesn't play JUCO ball next season."

- Director of Athletics

Don't have much experience with ineligibles, but that message sounded like he most likely would go JUCO. But he didn't. I speculate that the walk-on may be related to why he stayed.

I don't get it...why do you think 1 has something to do with the other?

The AD always says that when you sign an ineligible. You can't rely on that message as an accurate indicator of whether he'll go JUCO or not.

If that is what the AD always says, then there is no relation.

Having not seen the message before, it sounded like it was fait accompli that the ineligible would go JUCO.
