so this will hit in the midst of IBA recruiting? no doubt some world's postseason.....at least it isnt during Festivus, interrupting the Airing of Greivances would be a big issue
All sites have to do shut down for maintanence from time to time and with HD it will always be during somebody's postseason or recruiting, there is just no way to avoid it. I just wish they would've told us in a better way. Making a post in a random forum that I'm pretty sure most people had no clue existed isn't the smartest thing. They make posts on the CCs all the time, why is this time different?
this just simply is not true. don't take it personally kmason because you know i like coaching with you. but this mentality that everybody has matinence just ****** me off. its not true and to give them a pass is just BS. i guess i take it personally - i manage our data center of 500+ servers (which is probably 10 to 50 times larger than WIS) and our website is never down - down time is totally unacceptable. i would say our search engine is down approximately 10 minutes per year or less over the past 5 years and its always due to some major incident like a downed T3 line. even natural disasters have failed to bring us down for years (and we have had some). nor data center moves - we moved everything 700 miles and had a grand total of 0 seconds of downtime. simply put, any company who takes their services down like this doesn't care about serving their customers and either a) totally doesn't have their **** together or b) didn't have their **** together when they designed their system architecture. the internet standard has been 24/7 for like 15 years - but i guess you would expect a company as poorly run as WIS to be 20 years behind in their technology...
Completely agree. And the 2-day push back on the schedule is total load of ****. At the max, the site should go down for an hour and the schedule should not be affected at all.
And what do they need to do maintenance on now? It's not like the site has made any changes in the past year.
