speed or defense rating? Topic

When matching up man to man with other teams, is it better to have a player with higher DEF and lower SPD....or higher SPD and lower DEF?

Assuming you are guarding the other teams best player and he may or may not be faster.

Athleticism is very important. There's a weighted average that I'm sure could find the optimal strategy for guarding a player. 

There is a threshold of how fast your player must be to be effective guarding a certain player, but athleticism and defense are more important in m2m.

so ATH would be better than SPD in this situation?
What if the ATH of the 2 players is roughly the same?
