Does anyone know what the deal is with recruiting? Signings started yesterday, and continued early this morning and now it didn't run the 2 pm cycle. 

I know the site is going to be down for maintenance but I thought that was tomorrow...

i love how the maintainence window is 12 hours but the service is pushed back 2 days :O

The site isn't supposed to be down until 11 p.m. tonight.  I just gameplanned in other worlds,which were fine.  I'm done with my Iba recruiting so I can't attest to that

I'd just like to know when recruiting kicks back up because I am not finished. Don't want to have to worry about when it may or may not.

I suspect that's so recruiting isn't screwed up.   If they started it again in 12 hours, when would signings be...8 a.m.?   

By stopping it at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, then resuming at 2 a.m. on Thursday, we'll have our same recruiting cycles.

al, that makes a lot of sense - but it isn't how its working...they "fixed" the typo so it now stops (stopped) at 11 AM 8/23. Pls note though that all along it said it would resume at 2 PM on thurs, not AM like you thought above... I never did understand why it would stop at 11 PM and resume at 2 PM - so I figured it was a typo somewhere...

It's odd though because now teams have two days (including the time the site is down and unusable) to put in effort into one recruiting cycle in the middle of recruiting.  I would be really angry if I got beat out on a recruit because someone put in the effort to get them 20 hours after I did.  It could really mess things up for the time sensitive drop downs and vulture signings.

i can see not doing it in 12 hours. but why not 24? having 12 hours of downtime is bad enough already. i would think it would take less than rock-scientist level of thinking powers to figure out a way to keep 12 hours of physical down time limited to 24 hours of service distruption... instead of 48. not that i care personally it just seems surprisingly stupid, even for WIS standards. maybe they are just padding in an extra day in case they really screw the pooch on that database upgrade and have to whip out the ol' spell-o-tape to get humpty back together.

Yeah, my guess is that they're just leaving a ton of cushion.  A few years ago when they did the big site upgrade it ended up taking something like 12-15 hours longer than they had initially told us and everybody got all up in arms.  They may still be gunshy from that experience.  And I will definitely say that in general people will be LESS ticked at having them announce a 2-day downtime in game progression rather than announcing a 24-hour service disruption and ending up having to extend it at the last minute.  Particularly if the site's not even up for the announcement to get out.

remember guys, it si more than just HD that will be down.  They had to coordinate several sports and games going on.  Just my thoughts.
