Any Update Coming? Topic

So are we going to see any improvements to HD in the near future or is CS just going to continue to make baseless promises to their customers to get them to continue playing?

I've seen in other threads that a big update was promised by CS and I've personally been promised the same more recently. But I'm beginning to get the feeling that HD will continue to get neglected and this site will go downhill. I've seen it happen to far more popular sites.

Considering that there hasn't been a meaningful update to any dynasty game for close to half a year now, I'm really wondering about the future as well.

GD went through a developer change months ago. So far as I know the "new person" hasn't even been announced to the masses yet, although like Bigfoot, he/she is rumored to exist. There were promises of a "big announcment" over there within a month. The clock is, I believe, somewhere in the mid-40s for days now and only the sounds of silence.

Instead of the old Nixon political mantra of deny, deny, deny, the standing orderf here appears to be promise, promise, promise. Hopefully at some point it becomes deliver, deliver, deliver.

I sure hope so. I just purchased a season pack and may be the last one.
Trust me, HD is addicting, but sometimes the game is too frustrating to continue paying good money.

Without new updates/changes and support from Whatifsports, they will lose customers.
I hope that's not the case for me.

Yeah, once the customers start leaving, it will become less competitive and turn into a chain reaction where the whole thing falls apart. It's sad to consider, but these guys really need to pull themselves together because they can't just sit around and collect money forever.

Sad Fox puts no effort into this. Cause people would pay money if they knew what was out there. Just advertise it on TV or their website or something.
HD really has changed in the few years I have played the game.

They have the platform to make it big, but for some reason that I cannot comprehend, they are steering it right into the ground. We'll see what happens in the near future though.

They only bought this site so they'd be able to spy on all of us.

I dont want continual changes. Every time they make some "upgrade", my teams totally collapse since I built them based on the current model. And they used to "upgrade" about every 4 -6 seasons, just in time to mess up your class of seniors. And really, Upgrade just means changes, not real upgrades.

Just what major changes do you think they need to make?

For me personally, I think that a couple things ought to be done to fix the perceived problem at low to mid DI.  The resulting flight back down to DIII is actually a barrier to entry for noobs.  I believe that the problems with DI have been exacerbated by the flight of veteran coaches down to DII & DIII.  These are just spitballs:

1) Decrease rewards in DIII in the years after that coach wins a National Championship (if occupying the same position for more than, say, 8 seasons);
2) Make the very best DI recruits demand promises of playing time and/or starts before accepting a schollie (maybe not all, but add demand msg notice as well);
3) Make recruits with a total potential greater than, maybe, 750 unwilling to accept DIII recruiting...period; and, perhaps most important...
4) tweak DI recruit generation to improve the overall potential of recruits available to mid-conference DI schools.

I have not coached in DI, but it seems that enough coaches are bemoaning the last recruit generation change, that some tweak is mandatory.  The changes need only be modest, but that may encourage experienced coaches to move back up from DII & DIII to non-Big 6 DI schools where they belong.  If Butler, George Mason, Gonzaga and Virginia Commonwealth can compete at the top level in real life for multiple seasons, then it makes no sense that they can't in this game.

The Job Process and recruiting are the biggest needs for change, by far.

The problem is, it seems that the smartest and most creative people are playing the game and have no role in improving it.

De ja Vu all over again... hmmm I think I've written books about how to make this game the best thing on the internet...

Yet here we sill are ...

Hmmm...maybe Fox should hire you. But then someone who actually cares about the product they are working on would be involved which would totally contradict their plan to bury all of the Dynasty games.

hahaha...

I just wish that they would ever had decided to listen to their customers. I'm sure my old posts are still here somewhere but recruiting needs tweeking, potential needs tweaking... once you get those right the engine should be working pretty good...

Also we've long needed something else to do inseason then just game planning...

The crazy thing is - the BEST time I ever had in HD was when we had created a super conference in the Big Sky in Phelen, it was such a great time. They need to do something about low level schools and have a small percentage of d1 guys have great summers or something like that...

hmmm see thinking about how good HD could be is always what gets me drawn back in to play again ...
