"Maxed Out" Players Rating Drop? Anyone Else See? Topic

This morning I noticed two of my players on a team began dropping rating points in passing.  These players had been indicated by the AC to be maxed out in passing so I diverted practice elsewhere.  In the past no change occured in ratings during that season (except FT) once the AC indicated they were maximized, at least that I'd ever seen.

Anyone else see this on their teams?  I'm wondering if it may be related to the recent "site maintenance" (an unintended consequence?).

I did send a ticket but wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this on their teams.

in my experience, players who are maxed sometimes drop one point when zeroed out on practice.  I see that now and then.  I have not seen more than one point, but then again when the guy maxes out some other categories I often circle back and toss a few minutes into that category

Interesting metsmax--I've never noticed a drop (not to say it didn't happen and I simply missed it).

After start of new season I'll always reallocate minutes to get the "maxed out" message again, since I've seen them drop in the off season.

You guys zero out?  When I get the max-out email, I drop to 7/3.

I have never seen a drop after getting the "maxed out" message and putting minutes to zero. It may have happened in the offseason and I didn't notice but never have I seen it during the season.

Well, got a response and apparently they can drop a bit.  I went to the developers chat to try and find that you could zero out and I guess what I read from the chat (02/17/2009) confirms they can change slightly (up or down) after getting "the e-mail".  A few items from that chat...

  Q.  Is there anything that can be addressed in regard to the acoach emails? "stop practicing FTs, stop BH, stop PA, stop PE..." There is no way irl that we'd get an email suggesting that we stop practicing REB for a post player or jump shots for a SG. I have a C practicing virutally no minutes on REB and LP, but 20 in PE and BH! Seems silly.
(Rails - Hall of Famer - 1:26 PM)

  A.  The emails don't tell you to stop practicing that area, just to not use extra minutes there. In other words, keep enough minutes there to prevent decrease, but put anything beyond that in another area. With that said, with development slowing you'll get fewer of those emails hopefully.

   Q.  When we receive an email from our assistant coaches saying we are wasting practice minutes, does this mean the at the potential, or near the potential (ie does the player still have a point or two to improve or is he done)? (armst24 - Hall of Famer - 1:31 PM)

  A.  It means you are close to the max potential. They may still improve a bit, but not much.

So there ya go...FWIW.

its definitely true that the maxed email does not mean 100% maxed, could definitely be a point away. and also, i have seen single point drops from maxed out guys plenty of times. think of it like this. current and max ratings are NOT whole number values. we just see them that way. so say your players max is 90. you get the maxed out email at 89.9. well, over the season, he could drop .1 points or something, to 89.8, but you'd never see it. on the other hand, your player's max could be 92, you get the maxed out email at 91.1, drop .2 over the season to 89.9, and see the drop.

that said, your best bet is still unquestionably to go with 0 minutes in any maxed category, provided you have something else to do with the minutes.

I am writing to advise users of the terms "maxed" that they may be liable for payment of royalties.  Please consult the "maxed" user agreement.

I'll echo Gil's comments...I have seen a -1 drop when dropping a maxed(TM) player to zero many times.  I have never seen a -2 drop.

Mets, here is a copy of the message you should have received from my legal advisor,

Dear Mr. Max,

It has come to my attention that although the "maxed" user agreement was properly posted, dated, signed, and does contain the appropriate watermark; it does not contain the modified verbage required per Vol 64 Annex F Sec 105 Subpara (b) of the Code for Collection of Dues, Fees, Tariffs, Tolls, Levies, and Assessments dated Feburary 26, 2002. Therefore, please be imformed that I have advised my client not to pay any alledged royalties due from the aforementioned agreement.

Respectfully.

How did you miss "imformed" though?    Love the Stooges reference though Weena (or do they use Dewey, Cheatam, and Howe?  Aww hell, I can't remember).

I think the stooges use Cheatam.  (Cheatham?  Cheetham?)
