Well, I hope he doesnt listen to the people that think recruit generation is somehow the problem with the midmajors at DI, because it isnt...filling the conferences with humas is the #1 problem, replacing them once they take promotions is #2.
Uh, mmt ... why do you think the non-BCS conferences have become so empty? It's because of the ridiculous recruit generation. They were healthy before when it was more equitable and people felt that they had a legitimate chance to compete.
There's very little in HD that I'm more certain of than this.
This is one issue seble won't have to listen to anyone, he has been around long enough, and has been part of this issue since it began, I have little doubt he knows exactly what is wrong & has a pretty solid idea how to fix it.
A big ? I would have for him, is does he want to fix it?
It seems the combination of empty d1, lack of recruits, and EE (** edit as well as large BCS conference post season pools) has resulted in a game where the dominance in any given world gets passed around a little more than usual among maybe a 15-25 coaches, which I would think 'might' be considered a good thing????
I am not strongly tied to this theory & know unfair pockets of recruiting in some worlds would contradict this model, but overall that is what I see in my conferences at least. It used to be my teams and maybe one or two other team were A / A+ type teams, now some of my conferences have half dozen or more teams like that, which tends to spread the odds of winning it all out among more coaches? I think a different thread complained about too many A+ teams, my theory is just the opposite, all the A+ (and A / A-) teams moves the winning around a little more? As I said, just a theory?
