Prestige is looked at on a four-season block ... postseason success is the biggest, but also W-L and rpi are factored in, and things like conference championships are as well but in a minor way.

Your school's history is actually remarkably consistent -- first or second round, with 8-12 losses and an rpi between 28 and 44 every season. That would be a B+/A-. Your latest season isn't enough to boost you beyond that.
Support confirmed a few months ago that at D3 prestige is actually a floating value, effectively giving it an infinite window.  But a huge chunk is based on the previous season.
Did they say that applies to DII as well?

another newbie question. has anyone ever tried to compensate for a weak defender by double teaming the opponent at his position? If so what was your success rate at stopping the opposing player?

I have tried it.  My experience is that double-teaming cannot compensate for having a bad defender in a M2M.  Sometimes the double team helps, sometimes it just leads to more fouls and you're in worse trouble.  I tend to believe that when the target of the double team has high IQ and passing rating, then it is just bound to fail.  If you find a big scorer on your opponent, that has only modest IQ and poor passing rating, then that player is a good target.

Whether you double-team or not, you may consider trying to match up a better defender against the other teams best offensive threat (e.g. assuming your normal starting 2 has much worse defense than your 1 or 3, against a high-scoring opponent at the 2, move your 1 or 3 into the 2 spot for that game).

It's really my 4. He's probably the second best player on my team but highest rated. His defense is like 50 though and it just got there last game. He can score but his matchup tends to score the same or more if they are formidable enough. I really woudnt know where to move him.

The success of a double also depends on the ability of the entire team.  One thing I might consider would be starting Tidd and making sure he is matched up with the other team's best scoring post (starting at either C or PF depending on your opponent, with Mayhall starting at the other spot).

I thought several seasons was only for D1 schools! I wish they had a better write up on this game! It seems like there's a secret society of coaches who know what's really good.....
needs a bit of updating but a lot still holds true... I have been meaning to re-update it...
