Does IQ have any effect on the amount of turnovers a player with low BH or P would have? Say a player with 49 BH and an A+ IQ is given the same distro  as a another 49 BH or P rating with a  B- IQ. Would the first player has less turnovers with ultimately the same rating or would it not make that much of a difference?

So do you guys care at all if you have 2-5 spot guys with low pass ratings? And if it's like this for passing I assume it's the same for defense ratings too. I have a center on my team with 37 def and a B+ IQ. He fouls out constantly because I run MTM but that's practically his only weakness. When he gets to A or A+ he should be ok staying in the game if this is true.

red, IQ effects almost everything (there are exceptions ... ft shooting, etc.) 

He will be better as his iq improves. He won't be as good defensively as guy with the same iq and better def-related ratings. Also, his ath is pretty average as well. With low def, mediocre ath and iq I'd expect him to not be that good an interior defender right now.

FYI, he fouled out three times in your last 29 games.

And you're in D2, so there are going to be some holes in pretty much any player that you have.

The key is your decision on what area(s) to sacrifice -- some people put a higher premium on a category like passing than others.

Well I did put him on the bench after the times he did foul out. I guess it just seems like he fouled a lot more, especially when it costs me games. I get what you are saying though. I was really wondering about my back up PG. When I recruited him he had high potential in everything but rebounding and shot blocking... categories that should be at the bottom of the list for guards. After watching his growth this season I was somewhat disappointed because I just expected more but if IQ hides mediocre ratings then he should still shine where he is strong. 

IQ does not "hide mediocre ratings". IQ impacts all ratings, good or bad.

Also, Gentry had a very nice season (7 ppg on 51% shooting) for a 2nd year player and showed great improvement (72 points) ... am I missing something here?

IQ doesn't hide mediocre ratings but superior ratings will hide mediocre IQ.

I guess not girt I'm just anxious for ratings maybe... His overall growth was second to none but I was hoping for more growth in his core ratings.

Wonder about IQ on DEF. Using Zone to help my weaker defenders, but think about playing man (D-IQ) from time to time as I have 2 with 90+ DEF ratings, good ATH. Wonder how effective they would be...

if you have a choice between playing zone with A/B IQs and man with D IQs the good bet almost surely is to play zone

Well, he had good growth in a lot of categories. It's clear that's a function of your practice plan -- your practice minutes were spread out. If you want more growth in a specific category, he simply needs more practice time there.

Gentry: 

15 min P growth 10 pts. 
10 min LP growth 9pts
16 min Conditioning. ATH growth 12 pts. 
14 min Bh growth 7 pts. 

I really believe with a 91 WE and high potential in all these categories he should have grown more in P and BH. He did have an academic scare this season and this is how the minutes were allocated from the second grading period to the end of the season. He actually had more minutes in his core areas before the increased SH time. I don't see how he can grow 9 pts in LP and 7 pts in BH when I have 4 mins extra in BH and both skills have high potential. He even had high potential in speed and grew an amazing 0 pts. This is what I mean when I say I'm a tad unhappy... just a bit.
