What helps the most in getting players drafted? Stats in terms of ppg, reb, stl, etc. or excellent %, or high ratings?

Stats (mostly ppg) are big. Ratings and team success factor in significantly as well. Things like shooting percentage don't.

(I'm talking about seniors getting drafted; for early entries, ratings are more important than stats.)

What kind of ppg are we talking about here? Will 2000 career points with good % get it done?

It's not career points, it's what you had past season. And fg% either doesn't count at all, or is small enough not to matter in the conversation.

You can't come close to planning for it. I've seen plenty of high scoring guys not get drafted due to lack of team success, and at least in part due to lack of ratings.

No one on your Alcorn team can get drafted (if that's what you're asking).

I'm not asking for this season. I'm mainly asking for 2-3 seasons down the line to see if there are ways I can get a prestige bump via the draft. If scoring is the main determinant, then I can just load up distro on the guys that will break 800 overall ratings and push them over 20ppg.

It's not that simple. Very, very possible that the guy would average 20 ppg and not got drafted.

I don't think it's remotely worth trying to engineer an extra draft pick in hopes of a small prestige bump. I would play for ideal strategy and shoot for team success.

Team success plays a much bigger part than I thought. Donald Bird on my UT Chattanooga team led the nation in scoring this past season with almost 30 ppg, but my team didn't make the tournament and he didn't get drafted.

I'm pretty sure that the draft is based on attributes and not performance. Especially early entry.

Early entry is very heavily based on ratings. Getting drafted as a senior is a more even mix. The formulas are quite different.

If a guy has awesome ratings on a good team, he can leave early with almost no scoring. That same guy would have basically no chance to get drafted as a senior.

Making an All-American team certainly helps. NPOY/DPOY pretty much guarantee it from what I have seen.

It's not because they made the team, it's because the methodology for who makes the team is extremely similar to the methodology that determines which seniors get drafted (you need to be a good scorer with good ratings from a good team).
