Can I do that at any point in the season?  How does it work?  I want to sign an additional recruit and want to boot a player from my team.  Thanks

You can only revoke scholarships after the tourneys are over and before pre-season.

You can only revoke scholarships before the signings start. Once that happens you can't drop until the next pre-season. And you won't get any extra money for that open scholarship during that year.
