Girt, the Champion (colluder) Topic

Well, even coaches corner things which . .you know. . someone else could independently verify. . would have some meaning.  A sitemail?  Not really.  Several year old sitemails?  REALLY not.

For one, that e-mail is horrible.  I dont know if girt has a habit of not knowing what tense of the word "enjoy" to use, but maybe that's the style of writing you were referring to.  Even if you decipher that message to be a troll for info, couldn't it be from any of the people involved in battles at that time??  Maybe Pitt, Cincy or Tennessee looking for info??  Is the only reason you think this is girt the situation from 2 years ago??

Fine.  yesterday. . .still a sitemail.

. . despite not getting any information?  So he sends a 'fishing' email, gets no information, and then jumps in because of the information he didn't get?

I'm enjoy the subplot to recruiting of "who will the Illinis unleash their fury on?" Will it be Pitt and Cooney? Poor Cincy and Hern? The Vols and Gilliland? So many interesting choices!
You missed this one OR.   Marshall was just a "back up" option on the player in question at this point per FSS (if he was in at all at that point - which I am not sure he was)l.  He totally wanted to see if JD would tell him he was going after his guy.  If JD told him Calle, he would have bailed and went elsewhere.  Don't know what else to tell you.
something is definitely fishing for information here, obviously. again, dbalog is not gonna reveal his id so we can't know definitely who this person is. But logic dictates its a coach with a team around the B to A prestige range. Otherwise, he wouldn't be interested in who jdno or any A+ coach would recruit since he can't recruit them anyway.

you state something, i prove your statement wrong.  you state its still not good.  i like this theme.  i think we can agree to disagree.
Its a sitemail, hard to even prove the actual sitemail existed number one. . second. . the only reason you expect for everyone to believe that its an alias of Girt is, essentially,  "Because I say so"

Ding Ding Ding.  Now we are getting somewhere.
I'm a coach with a B prestige in that world, and earlier (in the other thread sort of about this) I admitted that I've posted questions in the forum under an alias in the past. Does that mean I sent that sitemail?

It is obvious that dbalog is the alias of a veteran coach. His profile shows that he joined WIS on Nov. 18, 2005. He played 28 seasons under that ID and had a record of 532-286 (0.650) with 11 conference championships. However, to make the leap to say that dbalog = girt25 is unmerited. It could be one of several coaches with a B or better prestige in Rupp. To claim that it is girt25 simply because of some alleged similarity in writing style is bogus. Most of us write very much the same and the sample size would likely not be enough for a forensics expert to validate in court. Also, for those who care, I have been contacted many times in the past by various coaches asking in different ways who I was going to recruit. It happens. My response is to not reply to them and move on. If it turns out that dbalog is in fact girt25 then I'm happy for you. However, until you have more proof than your guilty conscience opinion, I think you should let this drop.

So dac - remove the girt portion of this issue.  Are you saying this "I'm enjoy the subplot to recruiting of "who will the Illinis unleash their fury on?" Will it be Pitt and Cooney? Poor Cincy and Hern? The Vols and Gilliland? So many interesting choices!" is ok for an actively recruiting coach?  Yes, or no?  We can address the is this girt separately if you wish.
I think it is fishing - I think its distasteful. I think it would fall below the WIS guidelines for collusion. If I rec'd a sitemail like that I would respond by telling the other coach that during recruiting it is generally considered improper to discuss specific recruits via sitemail for obvious reasons. I would keep it civil and assume the other guy was just being over zealous.

Short answer in general, no, I don't think its terribly "OK", I also think that its easy enough for the other coaches that rec'd those messages to either just ignore them or respond as I would and no harm is done.

So, assuming I agree in principle with your concern, your "evidence" this is indeed girt is woefully slim. Before calling out someone I'd want a lot more evidence in my holster.

I like to write back misleading nonsensical emails that reference Karma, ancient Jainism and  Guy Lombardo.
11/9/2011 8:44 PM
OK, if doing nothing bothers you then report it to WIS, post the violator's name here in the forum, rent a billboard with flashing neon lights, take out TV and radio ads condemming the evil doer. It is only collusion if you respond. If no one responds, then hopefully the guy will get tired of asking.

balog in greek means ruling

I'm not a lawyer, I don't even play one on tv, and last night I slept in my own bed, not a Holiday Inn Express - but since you keep using girt's RL name (first name at least) and since I know that I know Dan's real last name and expect others do as well, the level of evidence you are presenting would seem to fall far short of the burden of proof needed to defend against a claim of libel were it to be filed against you...
11/9/2011 8:49 PM
Trentonjoe, I'm still cracking up over Guy Lombardo.
11/9/2011 8:55 PM
This is definitely fishing for information but is it collusion? Idk. Real collusion, or the offer to collude, should be along the lines of a sitemail I got 2 seasons ago, when a coach and I jumped on the same long distance recruit after signing, and he sent me something along the lines of "how about I take this guy so we can both avoid wasting cash in a battle (a battle you clearly cannot win) and next time this happens, I'll drop out and let you sign him."
