This is going to let everyone know the exact caps of their players maybe a season or two in advance.  And just in general take some of the strategy out of setting a practice plan.

In my opinion, when WIS implemented potential into the game, they pretty much took the strategy out of setting practice plans anyway.  There's still a little left, but nothing like what there used to be.  When I first started HD several years ago, setting proper practice plans was one way to separate average from good coaches, and good from great coaches.  Now, as long as someone halfway pays attention, it's almost impossible to mess up practice plans.

Thank you for the update. Though, idiot me would've benefitted from it earlier when recently I sank my last $ into a kid who put me over the limit.

Seble,

1st- thanks.  Great update.

2nd- with the new color highlights (standing page, RPI page, etc), a couple of schools with lighter shades of brown/gold do not really stand out when scanning down the page for the (My Wyoming team is really hard, Denver is so-so).

Nice to see that HD is getting some attention.  It's been ages since I played anything on WIS, but I have to admit this update tempts me to pick up a team again.  Maybe once the 14-hour workdays are over....

Anyone else having trouble pulling up player pages?

The tournament selection still needs to be tweaked a bit.  There's no way  Mt. Union, with RPI of 152, SOS 373 should be 7 sports ahead of #98 John Jay,  RPI 72, SOS 12.

91. Mount Union Ohio markadkins   152 373 20-6 9-4 11-2 0-0 8-2 Out
92. Curry Coast     95 149 18-8 9-4 9-4 0-0 7-3 Out

Couple of comments:

- The projection report won't show correct ordering of teams until the next game cycle (this afternoon or tomorrow am) runs for each world.
- I hadn't thought about the issue of recruiting a player above your class max before cutting a current player.  Maybe instead of a complete restriction, I'll just add a prominent warning.  The goal of that change was just to prevent people from spending money on a player before realizing they couldn't sign him.
- FT potential was overlooked.  I'll try to get that in soon.
- I'll look into switching the colors to help the color-blind.
For Al. First comment.

If someone already answered this, I apologize... regarding potential on the practice plan page, is there no way to know whether a skill has been maxed out versus has low potential remaining?

Goose, there's no way to know right now. We will continue to receive the maxed out emails from the assistant coach for now.

I know i'm the minority here, but this:

"Players deciding on early entry to the draft will now decide to stay if their team has already lost 5 or more players to graduation and early entry. Does not count walk-ons leaving."

makes zero sense.  if anything it should be the other way around. if i'm an NBA prospect, i'm certainly not going to stick around just because the team looks like it might be hurting next year.

It seems like most people on here would be in favor of the ability to have another color for a maxed out category. Hopefully this is changed, it seems like it would be pretty easy to do.

They ARE only 13 - 13.  I suspect they would shoot up the list with a couple of CT wins.

Old style would hold very little interest for me.

Is there a point that the postseason projections will stop updating, say at the start of the NT, so we won't just be able to check it and know whether we made it, takes the drama out of NT selection.
12/1/2011 9:43 PM
Potential isn't perfect, but I think it's vastly superior to the fully predictable, linear improvement that was literally the same for all players at all positions in all categories. That was way worse, imho.
