Breaking promised start? Topic

How often does the kid transfer if you break a start promise. Also, how much does the WE drop if he doesn't?

Personally, I would like to see broken promises cause a player to automatically transfer.  If a coach can't/won't fulfill the promise, it shouldn't have been offered in the first place.  Make promises worth more during recruiting, but make coaches honor the promises or lose the player, no questions asked.

ok, but until then does anyone know the answers to my questions?

i don't know the answer... but I can say that I waited until 7 games into the season before honoring my promised start recently.  I didn't even get an email from the player complaining at that point.  Point is - you can wait some amount of games before honoring the promise.  I don't know if other players complain faster and i just got lucky or what.  But I know promised minutes complaints don't start until conference games... my guess is promised starts are the same

so, ironically, I took the guy that I promised a start to and put him second string last night.  he has now started 15 out of 23 games but he got quite upset.  I guess that 8th time was a charm.  got a letter threatening transfer and dropped > 25 WE.  He seems pretty serious.

I plan to start him again, and will for the rest of the season (had a big game last night...).

I hope I can put him second string in NT if I need to?  Does anyone know if this will be okay?

You can put him second string in the conference tournament or at least you could before the release notes.

Does anyone know if his work ethic will recover? I have started him 16 of 24 games now and he is at -27 on WE.  It happened after I benched him for the 8th time.... started him again last night and no change to WE.  I will start him the rest of the season but I only have 2-3 games left.

Thanks

Does anyone know if you can beak a promised start for the entire NT? I started him the whole season and during the CT but he's been a handicap to  the team and I want my best lineup in the NT.

I agree 100% if going to use it as a recruiting tactic, then should either live up to it or suffer. As far as starts in tournament play, it is my understanding that it wont matter then (correct me if wrong)

Only the regular season counts...no need to start him in the NT.

Usually if a player is upset about broken promises and their WE drops, you will eventually get another email that either continues to complain or thanks you for fixing the issue. If you get the latter, his WE will recover most if not all of what was lost

+1
All promises are void once the CT starts

Some where on the site it has been stated a few times that you must start him 80% of the Regular Season (21 games) for him to not considering transferring based on the promise. No starts required after the regular season. If you start him the last 2 games, you will be short 3. He probably will not be happy.

Dac it depends on how much you do start him if you start him 50% or less he will leave almost everytime to have a chance of him staying he needs to start at least  60% of your games. The chances of him staying will go up with each start over that but to give exact numbers is almost impossible. And like the others have said, promises only go for the regular season.
