The problem is that they simply took the same logic that applied to a four year window and stretched it out over 10 years.

No AD in the world is going to care about a single digit win season a decade ago if you've had recent success. They will care a great deal if you won a title a decade ago, however.

Instead of just changing the number of years being considered, the system needs to be re-worked entirely. If it's not going to be re-done properly it shouldn't have been re-done at all.

The question is should I re-up my account seeing that I should be coaching an A-10 team this upcoming season instead of still sitting in D2. Not to mention this website sent some type of malware/spyware into my jobs network which could have gotten me fired if it would have spread through the system... I have grown to love this game but it seems to me it's failing to satisfy the needs of the gamer. After the conclusion of a season players expect to reap the rewards of their savvy calls... not wait another year.

something needs to be fixed, now.

Well, in the first cycle of Rupp there were exactly zero moves from D2 to D1, and only a very small handful overall.

As numerous others have said and asked ... this is a big deal -- when is the ETA to have it fixed?!

My apologies if these have already been mentioned, but what do you all think of these potential solutions:

1) Use the original most recent four year window to determine which coaches are eligible for jobs.  If there are multiple coaches applying for a certain position, then use the most recent ten year window to determine who gets the job.  This would seem to make hiring decisions more fair without the issue we currently have in which coaches aren't eligible for jobs they once were.

2) Use the new ten year window for eligibility and determining who gets the job, but strongly weight the coach's best 4-5 years.  This would seem to prevent some of the issues we currently see, for example where a coach needs to average a S16 over ten years to be eligible for Texas.  In this case, they would only need to average a S16 over their 4-5 best years.

Yet another example of Seble and the powers-that-be pulling a Nero --- fiddling while Rome burns,

This is the single biggest fiasco this game has encountered since introduction, and I find it astounding that Seble can't recognize this.

I'd put it on the fringe of the top 5 fiascos, myself. Maybe in the 5-7 range.

Interesting diversion - list your top 5 HD fiascos? :)

The initial advent of potential has to be the worst.

I think that potential ended up being a nice improvement, but the initial implementation was just a complete debacle.

This one is pretty bad. If not rectified quickly, it will continue to shoot up the list.

how many moving up in Rupp this job cycle from D2 to D1?  Best guess is 0.  That is why I am going to quit this sim.

In Phelan both OK State and Florida sit empty after the jobs process....presumably because the only few people that could actually qualify for those jobs were already coaching big time programs.

brooooooooooken.

yeah, this is small potatoes in comparison to some things... agree with girt, intro of potential has to be the worst.

It looks like the problem will be taken care of. I am glad to see this.
