A Different Promised Start Question Topic

I ran out of money and gave a scholarship to the only other player I had turned green.  I forgot he had a start promise, and he has proven to be a serious liability.

IF I bench him, is there any chance he will leave?  Or will he stay and just decline in WE?

He will leave. Are you playing Target Minutes or Fatigue? I prefer fatigue, I think someone here said if you put him on mopup only and start him, he'll only start and play the first 5 minutes.

However, I know if you play target minutes, and put him as say 10-15 and start him, then that will keep his minutes down and he still gets the start so he's happy.

I tried starting a guy on mopup last season to get around that promise and he just didn't play at all.  #2 on the depth chart started.

Its not a sure thing that he will leave but there is definitely a chance of it. Also there will be a WE drop as well.

there is a reputation penalty for failure to meet recruiting promises too.

Does the promised start player have to start every game? With injuries put aside if I decide to start another player, when will it become a problem for the initial starter?

80% in the regular season is the benchmark

Mopup means that a guy only plays when your team is ahead or behind by a large margin in the game ... and even then he only plays when you are ahead or behind IF you also have "When winning and the game is out of reach, give more time to backups" or "When losing and the game is out of reach, give more time to backups" checked in the "Team Game Plan".

I had this situation and thought that 80% was it, but it's actually 60. Saw a 10 WE drop after a couple games of not playing him.

so you can give a promised starter recruit 60% of starts and he won't have a WE drop or transfer? Your statement is throwing me off because you're saying it's less % wise but you still had a 10 pt WE drop after a "couple" games of not playing him... Did you not play him period or did he just not start the game?

Actually I misread OP's post. I thought he was asking about the level of health of the player promised (which games will count against him if he is >= 60%). I've heard the # for promised starts is more like 90-95%

Promised starts is 80%.

It used to be that 80% was enough but it has been 90% for a while now.

worked for me last season when i started a guy 24 out of 30 games (exactly 80%)...it may differ from player to player but 80% is supposed to be the benchmark for most players
