Dang I got some work to do. Anyone know why when game planning some zone teams say 3-2 and others say 2-3? Is it based on how often you run one vs the other? And if so are there any real game time effects for running one more than the other? If I run 2-3 most of the time then switch to 3-2 could it aversely affect how my team plays?

3-2 zone is much more effective against good perim teams, 2-3 more effective against teams with low post presence. if you see a team that you're facing runs primarily 3-2 zone, you can turn down your 3 pt frequency and it should help

Im running the zone and I understand the differences I just wonder what makes either zone option pop up in the player game plan? Like say a coach sees I run 2-3. Why does 2-3 pop up for him when I can run either set? When I set my zone is Wis saying he's running 3-2 today? That's what I'm trying to say.

I've wondered the same thing since I started switching back and forth. It kind of makes a difference especially since I tend to game plan after midnight. If the other coach game plans early and then I switch zones that could potential screw them up big time.

Zone IQ applies equally to 2-3 and 3-2 so running a 2-3 all season and then switching to 3-2 isn't going to hurt you any.

Yea I think that's definitely why I lost some games in conference. When running 2-3 my opponent killed me with the 3 the next time we played I went 3-2 and he barely shot any 3's. It's like he knew my plan.

Maybe but it was weird that the game plan was so perfect for what I had set in two different games.

It might be a fluke, but to be safe you probably should file a ticket so they can investigate and see if there was anything unusual in terms of account log in or something of that nature.  Sounds like you got hacked and your opponent knew what you were running.

How else would your opponent be able to play one way on offense against a 2-3 zone and yet another when facing a 3-2?

I'll cross my fingers and hope it is a fluke but it really does seem like something fishy is happening here.

You can gameplan for BOTH 2-3 and 3-2 under "player game plan". There is a drop down menu that allows you to select different player distribution, 3 pt setting, and foul setting for each defense. So, basically your opponent decided to reduce his 3 pt frequency when playing against a 3-2 zone and increase when playing against a 2-3 zone.

Your account hasn't been hacked nor can your opponent read your mind. Sorry spoil the excitement and intrigue...

Here is another question concerning the 3-2 zone:  Anyone have success using the doubleteam out of the 3-2?
