I have coached Francis Marion in Wooden for 7 seasons.  I had a A+ reputation for the first 5 years.  Before the 6th season I cut one of the players I recruited (I experimented with signing a player with a 2 we)  for 2 seasons I played with him..after the off season after the second season his ratings continued to drop (2 off seasons in a row).  I let him go and my reputation went from A+ to A- which is fine.  However I have played 2 seasons since then and it still is at A- and some of the teams available have a comment next to the job openings that they are looking for a coach with a better reputation......does anyone know when and if the rep will go back up?? I have kept every single minute and starting promise I have ever made...
These are only C prestige schools saying this.....Just wondering if this is normal or does Seble design it in such a way that it is difficult to move up a dvision with a decent prestige?

I would submit a ticket if it hasn't moved in 2 seasons.

I will ..plus the schools prestige went up to a A-...

FYI the sim counts it as if you cut him in season 6, so you have been good for 1 year.

I think that your rep should go to a A+ after this season.

thanks guys the response was that although a coach can go from a d to a c in one year it takes longer for a coach to go from a a- back to a+ they said 3 years for that.

Does a poor reputation only effect your ability to move up to a new job or does it effect your ability to sign a recruit as well?

Yes - a big yes. Two seasons ago at NW Nazarene in D2, I tried using Booster Gifts and got caught. I went to a terrible reputation. At the end of that season, I was not eligible for any D2 or D1 jobs, despite making a post season appearance for the 3rd consecutive year. At the end of the second season after this, my reputation has improved to "Poor", but I am still not qualified for any D2 or D1 jobs, despite making it to the second round of the NT and having an RPI in the 20s. Does anyone out there know how fast the reputation will improve enough to where I can get into D1?

I'm curios about this too, especially the second part.

I had a good recruiting class when I had a terrible reputation, so it did not seem to affect me. I'd still like to know how fast a reputation recovers if you don't do anything else to mess it up again.

Reputation does not effect recruiting, only job movement.

I am in my second year at TCU and just rescinded the scholarship of a player I didn't recruit with a work ethic around 10.  It is the only time I have done this so I will be irritated if it messes up my rep.

did you have players flunk out? it doesn't sound right that it would stay at an a- without any infractions. typically, nobody notices a flunk out mattering - mostly it won't cost you a grade, so you won't be able to see it. but for a long time i was so disengaged, i didn't even realize grades impacted reputation at the time, but i had at least 2 and more like 5 flunk outs per season, and after a while, my rep was down to an a- or even b+. so maybe thats it?

Well, maybe it will be for the best. For some reason, I have never enjoyed the kind of success at NW Nazarene as I have at the other schools I have coached. Probably because it is out in the middle of Idaho, and there are very few recruits nearby. So, I had planned on bailing from the program. But now, the program is really starting to turn around, so I am kind of excited about staying. It will probably help me land a better D1 job once my reputation recovers. Plus, I hate leaving a program without feeling like I was successful there.
