tianyi, yes, he could do better, and in the future he'll know to look for much higher ATH. But it's just not true to call players of this caliber "useless". Average? OK. But there are guys just like this who make decent big men on good teams. Just looked through my D3 conference's ratings and found a guy with 32 ATH, 78 REB, 47 DEF, 77 SB and 63 LP. His IQ's as a senior weren't even that great, because he transferred in. He just averaged 6.1 rpg, 1.1 bpg, and shot 52% fg. That's on a 19-10 NT team in the 2nd-best conf in D3 Tark. Another guy has 38 ATH, 81 REB, 43 DEF, 65 SB, 52 LP. Just averaged 6.1 rpg, 51% fg, 1.0 bpg in 23 mpg.
Again, those aren't earth-shattering numbers, but they're not awful, and you can build an NT-caliber team that has a few guys like that. When I started at D3 Naismith, I kept recruiting big men like that for the first 5 seasons, until I realized how important ATH was. And yet I still made the S16 in my 4th or 5th season.
