Not to brag, BUT..... (RPI #1) Topic

I wanted the challenge of a complete rebuild for my second HD team, so I took over the 11 scholly Anna Maria last season. I signed 2 JuCo juniors (now seniors), one transfer sophomore, and five frosh. We went 16-12, 9-7 in conference, and I was pretty happy with the results.

This season, it turns out that one of the JuCo signees is a top-five D3 player, the soph class of five have grown nicely, and through eight games we have an RPI of 1. I can't say that I expected to complete a turnaround this quickly. Obviously the season is early, but I think the feat is impressive nonetheless.

wow, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I have never seen such a weak schedule merit the #1 RPI. it will drop a lot. nevertheless, nice job on your rebuild

No offense taken, i was actually not looking forward to seeing my RPI/SOS because I thought they would be low for my 8-0 record. I tried to schedule the best SIMs I could, and it looks like I did a good job. They should all do well in conference so I don't think it will drop THAT much. My last non-conf game should be a tough one (for a SIM), but if I can get a victory there, gotta like the odds of running the tables

I was in a mostly Sim conference in DIII. I had the top RPI after OOC play but I was playing good human teams. I expected my RPI to drop in conference play, but I ended up in the top 5

My conference had a down year last year. Finished the non-conference 9-1, RPI: 4, SOS: 11. (only lost versus Ohio Northern, which is a powerhouse in Allen), ran conference table and finished conference play, RPI: 23, SOS: 193.

He can't maintain top rpi, but should be top 5 rpi. Those sims he scheduled are in empty conf, so theywill keep racking up wins. SoCal teams will take top rpi because of its extremely high sos.

His SOS is number 11 as we speak, so obviously it's not THAT weak.  Lots of away games are certainly helping his RPI though.

SOS is damn near meaningless early on. People who play people with good records get a huge boost early on.

Also, home/away does not matter if you have 0 wins or 0 losses. Your winning % is still 100% or 0%. No doubt the away games will help him later on, though...

Away games wil help the RPI much more than it will your tournament seeding
