Wooden will be tougher to build a power conference in, especially if you only have 2-3 coaches off the bat.

Im going to stay d-3 as well. I was just saying that if you have the best d-3 and d-2 league does that make it better than just having best d-3?  More people looking for competition at any level would join, do you think?

I know how tough Wooden is but I'm looking for a really great group of owners to do this.. it will be a tough challenge but it will be fun! I can always get a bunch of newbs but I'm trying to get guys that have played before so common guys lets get enough to fill up the SUNYAC!

If you're looking to join D3 Wooden, I'll throw out the New Jersey conference.  In this previous thread (http://whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?TopicID=452627), I pitched some stuff to caesari and he'll be joining us there next season and will be our 5th coach.  The first 4 coaches are all pretty familiar with one another, and we'll be there for quite some time as we all heard about the D3 Wooden competition and came to check it out for ourselves.  It was essentially an empty conference when the first 2 coaches joined last season, then we each brought another coach to the table this season, and now caesari will make 5 of us.  We'd like to grow our base and think we have the perfect league and location (metro New York!) to do it.

And if it's deep turnarounds you're after, trust me when I say that we offer the jackpot of turnaround situations:

- New Jersey City is 7-24 in the last 2 seasons and hasn't made the NT in 45 seasons...doink!
- Ramapo has had a real coach just 3 seasons in the last 27 and hasn't made the postseason at all in the last 31 seasons
- Rutgers, Camden hasn't made the postseason in 17 seasons
- Rowan has seen the postseason just once in the last 44 seasons
- Cazenovia has seen the postseason just once in the last 28 seasons
- D'Youville hasn't seen the postseason in 26 seasons

That could be a good idea, but what about iba being known as the top d-2 league (as i believe you know pretty well caesari). What would you think of the possibility of the top d-2 and d-3 leagues and ultimately be the top league to join?
That is too difficult. D3 Iba is extremely top heavy, and all the D2 coaches will steal quite a few D3 pulldowns/drop downs...

And I still need to reserve my team.... :/ will do that by this weekend.

If you're looking for a power conference I'd suggest finding a conference which has a couple long time coaches in it that you know will stay so you have a strong base right away.  If you're considering Tark, we used to have 3 or 4 power conferences and now we're really down to 2.  The University has 9 coaches and they are pretty strong and the MIAA was a power a long time ago and has dwindled to just 4 coaches (If I were you, I'd go to the MIAA).

Michigan over Minnesota? No way. If you're looking to help a power conference come back in Tark, go MIAC. We's got a couple teams that regularly make the post-season and 3-4 long-time owners, but filling up the rest has been the challenge.

Sorry, it was late, I meant MIAC.

Well I already pitched the idea of a new open conference to a few of my buddies so we will be in the SUNYAC next season we will fill a little more than half the conference hopefully

I'm really liking the idea of Wooden growing.  Imagine how awesome it would be with even a 3/4-full world in D3?  It would be SUPER tough to get recruits, but isn't that really the fun of it?  More recruiting strategy, more fun?

new jersey conference!!!!

it would be fun to fill up the world. A few years back we had the rupp D2 mega bowl, whch was really good for about 6 seasons. Unfortunately people started leaving and/or moving up after that. Perhaps at D3 people wouldn't be as inclined to move up.
