I lost the wireless in my house once at 12:30 AM of signing day (cycles at 1-4-7 for me) and drove to a Starbucks.  A closed Starbucks.  I then recruited in my car using the fact that they don't turn off their wireless at night.

I don't generally eat at Burger King, but yes, more than once I have sat in their parking lot and used their wireless to take care of important HD business.

I was so long in the bathroom at my niece's wedding reception that my Mom sent my 85-year old Dad to check on me. "Allen are you OK?"

"Dad, I'm in here for Rupp, not Allen."

I was out of power for three days. day 3 was the start of recruiting. I took my car to the dealer to switch out my windshield wipers. In the 3 minutes it took them to do it, I did all my recruiting on my iPhone via their free wifi.

Okay...so I'm at a college right now for a convention of sorts, and I happen to stumble across the basketball coach during a break. Naturally, I strike up a conversation with him about how recruiting is going and whether he's got a line on anyone...typical coach/sports editor banter. He gets a gleam in his eye and tells me he had a kid who just verbally committed that he's stoked about. As he's describing the guy, he tells me "he's one of those players that's just sky's the limit."

I barely avoided asking him which category that was in.

I'd have probably asked him if he'd gotten the SHHHHH-BANG message yet.  (And then he would have called campus security.)

If you base your cell phone purchase on recruiting usability, you might have an HD problem.
If you never make plans with your wife or girlfriend before 7:30 on the 1st night of recruiting, so you won't be bothered and can start recruiting while she finishes her hair and makeup, you might have an HD problem.
If you've just had a baby and you volunteer for overnight feedings, just so you can hit the 2 AM EST recruiting cycle, you might have an HD problem.
If you've ever watched your favorite team lose a game because they can't hit an open three and grumbled about the -5 being too effective, you might have an HD problem.

busted on the night feedings as well. my first year at Northwood I recruited a super class during the overnight feedings that went 28-3 and made the Sweet 16 as seniors. I'll never forget, I credit my son for all the success!
