Two ?s:

1. If I redshirt a player and his WE drops dramatically, will it recover next year on its own?

2. If I decide to rescind the redshirt this year, will it immediately recover?

So just to clarify, if you redshirt a player and he takes a significant WE hit, you can rescind the redshirt and the player will return to normal?  I know in GD the player wouldn't recover all the lost WE, only maybe 50% of it.

if you want to redshirt the player and he doesn't want to take it just don't play him (do not put him in the lineup) and when you are down to a couple of games left in the season then redshirt him and his  WE won't drop.

If you rescind a redshirt, the player's WE will return to normal immediately.

that is not always the case. Some players will never accept the redshirt happily even if the season is over and they never played at all. If you force it on them, the WE will still plummet and stay there. This does work sometimes however.
