Just a few predictions based on what little I know about basketball.

Greg Marshall to South Carolina
Danny Hurley to Rhode Island
Scott Sutton to Tulsa
Shaka Smart to Illinois

Miss. State will offer Tim Floyd the job but if he turns it down Larry Eustachey will be next in line. Bobby Hurley will take over at Wagner after Danny takes URI. If Smart turns down the Illinois job don't be supprised if Stan Heath or Bruiser Flint's names start to be thrown around.

Samford has fired Jimmy Tillette after 15 seasons. He led them to the NCAA tournament in both 1999 and 2000.

I don't see Dana Altman leaving Oregon for Nebraska. They invested so much in him, I don't think he can leave after only two seasons, especially with the investement in basketball Oregon has and the program is turning around on the court too.

1. Gregg Marshall isn’t a lock to be the next head coach at South Carolina just because he was once the head coach at Winthrop (located in Rock Hill, S.C.). He is extremely comfortable at Wichita State and according to a source with direct knowledge of his situation, it will take a monumental offer to pry him away from the Shockers.

2. Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy could be in play at his alma mater, UAB, but there are still a lot of moving parts to see if this occurs. Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne has strong ties to Mississippi and is expected to be in play at Mississippi State

Gregg is my cousin, and my personal opinion is this...he wants to go to South Carolina (for the right price), but I don't know if South Carolina wants him.  The SC AD, Eric Hyman, has a ridiculous hard-on for Tubby Smith...

I don't know anything about him other than his coaching credentials, but why on earth would Marshall turn down last year's NC State job, but take South Carolina now? Seems like a crazy talent gap/desire-to-be-good-at-basketball gap. I think Wichita is probably in a better position to be good for years to come than South Carolina...

With VCU's Smart's buyout a relatively low $800,000, that might give plenty of room to bump an offer well above $2 million. Maybe $2.5 million. Maybe more," writes Supinie. "That's way more than his $1.2 million base salary at VCU."

As for reasons to stay ... "Illinois is the top opening at this point, but other jobs might come open," Supinie continues. "Smart doesn't have to jump. He's got four starters returning from a 29-game winner. He's built plenty of equity as an up-and-coming prospect."

North Carolina State will always be the poor little cousin to Duke and UNC.   It would be a tough job for anyone.  Plus, NC State has an A.D. who's shown questionable judgement at best.  Did you see her press conference where she introduced Mike Gottfried??  Basicly, she said...We wanted someone else, but Gary Williams sabatoged our efforts so we're giving you Gottfried instead."

Dick Versace, 71, is interested in the Eastern Illinois job.  He coached Bradley from 1978-86. followed by the Indiana Pacers.

Who would hire a 71 year old? Recruits don't want to play for a guy who is 71. Mainly because they don't know if he will be there when they graduate. Sweet last name though.
 
Too bad about Cremins, I thought he could turn the College of Charleston into a long-term program, but health comes first (quick somebody tell Jim Calhoun, who looks like a skeleton, absolutley SWIMMING in his suit in the NCAA tournament).
