I have seen coaches intentionally destroy a team because they were peaved and I can imagine admin telling someone to stop if it the behavior looked like an effort to hurt the program

on the other hand, as a terps fan who has systematically avoided ever coaching certain schools maybe it would be fun to see how bad I could make them?  "what if" as they say....

Exactly, to an outside viewer it appeared I was trying to destroy a team so I respected his concern. But once I explained I was just experimenting with boosters and seeing what it took to get them to work he was a little more okay with it. Though he still preferred me not sending 50+ boosters around haha.

Question, though I think I know the answer: If I use booster gifts in World A and get caught, does that effect my repuation in World B? (I am pretty sure the answer is no, but just asking to make sure)

how else are you supposed to learn how to use that feature if not through experimentation?
