now faces the difficult job of replacing Tim Miles, a hard worker who did a solid job with the Rams over the past five seasons. So who might be in the mix to take over in ?
According to Kelly Lyell of the Coloradoan, Miles indicated at his introductory press conference at that Craig Smith and Niko Medved, two of his assistants at CSU, deserved consideration for the job. Smith is currently serving as the interim coach.
Lyell continues with several other potential targets. "... After Illinois failed to land either option 1a (VCU's Shaka Smart) or 1b (Butler's Brad Stevens) despite contract offers in the range of $2.5-2.6 million annually, the Chicago Tribune reports today that the school's coaching search is now centered around Ohio's John Groce.
Groce isn't the big name that many Fighting Illini fans have come to hope for, but his stock rose considerably in recent weeks with the Bobcats' Sweet 16 run
